I get really really dry skin on my body and I was wondering if you could recommend me a yummy smelling, really moisturising moisturiser? Something that will really help dry scaly skin and smell gorgeous.

And also do you have any recommendations for a handcream and a nice shower gel?

TIA! Cool

Jojoba oil with your favourite essential oil(s). While your skin is still damp from the shower, apply the oil, then gently pat dry, and voilà!

Burt's Bees Baby Bees Buttermilk Body Lotion is so nice.
Neal's Yard Frankensence is excellent for dry skin and smells lovely.

Unrefined shea butter with a few drops of EO is fab for dry skin.

A brilliantly-priced, gorgeous-smelling body lotion that's very effective for dry skin in Palmer's Cocoa Butter. Mind you, not everyone loves the smell - it's kind of a caramel milk chocolate scent.

Lavera does a wonderful body oil, scented with Coconut and Vanilla, that's very natural.

For handcreams, I absolutely swear by Kiehl's Intensive Treatment for Callused Areas. It's the best I've ever used - and my hands can get unbelievably dry.

My favourite bath/shower gels are either by REN or Aromatherapy Associates. Both make the most gorgeous, rose-scented gels. Otherwise, if you don't mind a more watery-textured solution, REN also make a fantastic Monoi Oil Body Rinse. You apply it at the end of your shower and quickly rinse off, leaving your skin soft and scented of monoi.

The new Shedonism body cream from Origins is heavenly - super moisturising and softly fragrant with tiare flowers. A very indulgent treat.

Hi! A fellow dry scaly gal (so nice to know I'm not alone). I make several different moisturizers. I PM'd you with some info.

I know you said gorgeous smelling, but for my dry and itchy legs I now use Dermal Therapy. Unfortunatley it doesn't smell like anything Sad which makes me sad, but you could always add an EO to it? Its just such a great lotion that I had to recommend it.

What I do is put Body Shop Brazil Nut Dry Oil Spray on top to make it smell good and give me extra moisture as well.

I used to use Neutrogena Body Oil, put it on while standing in the bathtub after my shower, rub it in and then get out and dry myself. That worked too and it smells good.

Yes, I love Kiehl's Crème de Corps too, but I didn't put it because I don't think it particularly smells of anything.

It's fabulously moisturising, though.

It's not super yummy smelling, but I've been using Curel for years. I LOVE that stuff (even when they changed the packaging so you got less product AND they raised the price! Shock ). I just find it really works well.

However, I just made another post about some products I just received from Make Me Smooth. They have super YUMMY scents you can add to the products and they carry alot of different body creams. I haven't tried them enough (I just got the order tonight) to suggest one (I just put a bit on to see what they were like), but they did feel really creamy and nice on my skin (I'm assuming they would be really moisturizing, but until I try them for a few days I can't confirm).

I like a grapeseed & jojoba mixture. It soaks in nicely & doesn't leave me feeling greasy. There are alot of oils that are very good for your skin. Rosehip, squalene, cammelia just off the top of my head. Being a dry person too exfoliation is very important. I make a sugar scrub & a body polish that I use in the shower. This way I'm sloughing off the flakies daily and moisturizing too.

I have spent $$$ and $$ on body moisturizers. My best response so far is Gold Bond Ultimate Healing. My husband purrs when he touches my skin at night....

PURE COCONUT OIL!

Either slab some on your skin- smells great, yummy!

Or, put a few tablespoons into your bath, and when you get out of the bath, it will evenly coat your skin!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I also have very dry skin. I love, love, love Body Shop Body Butter, esp. Nut. I have tried other butters and they just don't compare. However, I was recently at Walgreens and the clerk let me try their brand of cocoa butter. I bought a jar and really like it. It is called Paradise Gold Cocoa Butter Premium Cream. It contains Shea Butter and elastin and glycerin. It sinks into your skin very quickly and the scent is very mild. It is also 1/3 of the price of Body Shop, or less when on sale. I use it during the day as a hand cream too.

I have extremely dry skin and the only thing that I can use is Garden Botanika products.

http://gardenbotanika.com

Garden Botanika is all natural and in addition to their regular scented body lotions and shower gels you are able to pick and choose your own scent... You can pick a single scent or you can layer 2 or more scents together in parts to create your own personal scent.

I have tried dozens of different type of body products and this one is the only one that does not make my eczema flare up and keeps my skin sofy and hydrated... the yummy scents are a big bonus!

The Bath and Body Works line Tutti Dolce makes very light yet very moisturizing body souffle and all the scents are incredibly decadent.

I'm also putting a vote in for philosophy falling in love body lotion for the same reason as above. Very Happy

I have very dry skin and love putting hand cream over my body as I found it richer than body lotion. Currently using Crabtree & Evelyn lavender hand cream, I'm still liking it.

I've used Jurlique rose body lotion before, and I think in that price range, it should do a better job.

For Body Shop Body Butter, it seems to be very moisturizing, but it only stays on the surface of my skin, but smells nice though.

Neutrogena Body Moisturizer, hmm... some people may like fragrance-free, I'd rather wear something with the scent that makes me feel good all day. It doesn't penetrate well also.
