I got the oxylight because well..... I am sick and tired of other products that claim that they are able to get rid of cystic acnes. I dont get very many cystic acne. never more than 1 cystic acne at one time. but it is enough to make me angry because it just stays there for 3 months or something.
I got my oxylight a couple of days ago and started using it. I must say that I was a bit reluctant in the beginning. I was confused on how to use it. Not to mention the tingling sensation makes me feel like I was getting electric shocks. but the result realyl does surprise me.
I have had this one cystic acne for hm... maybe a month now. I have put everything on it. From tea tree oil to duac gel. Nothing realyl seems to reduce the inflammation. Surprisingly, oxylight reduces the inflammation. I have been using it and done spot treatment on the cystic acne. And now the acne is just this little bump.
This is really money well spent. |

I have been using hylexin eye cream for 6 weeks now and to be honest have not noticed any difference what so ever. Has any one else used it and is it worth investing in another tube? Can anyone reccomend a decent eye cream? |

I got mine a few days ago as well.
I really didn't know what to expect with it, but when I plugged it in...it all came back to me. It was like a lightbulb went off. My old facialist used to use this on me after extractions! It calms down redness and speeds up healing.
I've done 3 extractions (very carefully) and then used the Oxylight. The redness was gone within 15-30 minutes and there is no bump to speak of.
When I use it all over my face, my face look clearer and more even. I really love this product and happy that I jumped on the bandwagon on this one!
Overall, when used all over, I look more awake and the zits subside on their own w/o any acne product.
All in all, an EXCELLENT purchase
P.S - I bought this on eBay. |

I believe that they are the same product. The newer version is called Oxylight, and the original model Dermawand. That's what I understand at least, but I could be wrong.
When you search Oxylight in google, it directs you to the dermawand website. I really think they are the same product, but oxylight is the new and improved version. |

The Brand New Derma Wand kit with 7 Spa Quality products is now 5 times stronger than the Oxylight. The Oxylight Pulses at 20,000 cycles per second and the Derma Wand Pulses at 114,000 Cycels Per Second. This is a Professional Grade Unit. |
I only have it for a few days but I'm really liking the results. |

I am intrigued by this Oxylight! I wish I could find out how it works. Do any of you ladies have a website that you can point me to that explains the methodology behind this machine? The only thing that I seem to be able to find out about it is that it produces ozone. Also, it seems to be pretty much unavailable on most web-stores. I'd like to hear more reviews from people who are using it.
Thanks!

Darren,
I'm not sure if this is any help but here is a link about the history of the Derma Wand.
http://home.earthlink.net/~sbdarnell/dermawand_history.htm
I have only been using it for a about 5 days. So far I have seen a decrease in my pore size and a reduction in my laugh lines. My skin is smoother and more glowing.I bought it mainly because my grandaughter was having a problem with blackheads and blemishes on her forehead. For three months we've tried everything with hardly any success. In 5 days her blemishes and blackheads are almost gone. We are thrilled and amazed! |

Hi Darren
In salons they sometimes use high frequency machines. From what I remember, they used it after facial waxing and on those who had breakouts. Before proms many young ladies would come in and have several treatments a few weeks before their prom to control breakouts (clear up).
I have a Derma Wand. Unfortunately, I can't use it as it makes broken capillaries worse. My daughter has problems with breakouts and loves the Derma Wand. When a pimple starts appearing she zaps it a few times a day.
I would recommend the DermaWand for anyone who has problems with acne. When I first got it I would use it where capillaries were not an issue. I did not note any change in fine lines and wrinkles. I did note pore shrinkage in my T zone. |

Thanks everybody. I will look into it....didn't realize that the Oxylight was the same thing as a DermaWand. Guess I should not read posts while watching TV! |

Yes, Oxylight is a smaller version of the wand the beautician used on our pores after they squeezed out the pimples. It feels and smells the same. Last time at the facial, I've asked to look at it. The Oxylight has a small bulb at the end and the professional wand used in the spa has a long big bulb. I checked with my beautician and she told me that it's for reducing the pore size and reduce imflammation. I love my Oxylight. |

Actually, if you go to the Amazon site, you'll see that the company went from the original dermawand to the oxylight but NOW, they've reissued the dermawand with increased power over both the original dermawand and the second generation oxylight. I find the whole concept of the device fascinating. I don't ever breakout but I'd love to hear more about the effect it has on clarity and firming (if it has any...). Also, Winnie mentioned that it exacerbated broken capillaries. Why is that? |

Probably because it sends little electrical currents (like tiny shocks) into your face . I have the dermawand and it tells you not to use it on the higher setting around your eyes or nose area (or anywhere else your skin is thin and you tend to get broken caps...so especially for older people who tend to have naturally thinner skin, I can definitely see why this would be problematic). I got a little overzealous with mine and accidentally gave myself a broken cap by my nose. It was pretty unnoticeable and seemed to go away on its own in a couple of weeks. Otherwise I Love it. It helps skin/blemishes heal more quickly and gives me a nice rosy looking (not red, just normal circulation to my pale skin) 'glow'. It also helps products absorb more quickly into your skin. |

How long do you use the Oxylight and how frequently? If you are treating a pimple, how long do you apply the device to the spot? Do you use it on a dry face or with products?
Thanks much! |

I have a DermaWand and believe it is very useful for zapping pimples. The heat kills bacteria. |

The Derma Wand is great for all over, and gives a really nice little eye lift also.
When I use it frequently enough, it actually helps drain my dreaded fatty bags a bit.. (Or perhaps it's just lifting things, so hey look better.. )
It's a nice little gadget, and so affordable. |

Does it only treat one little spot at a time (the tip looks quite small)? How long do you have to hold it in each spot? Thanks! |

You hold it quite like a pen, and just go round and round all areas.. There are lifting techniques that the DVD really gets into, that actually work on a temporary basis, but if you do it frequently, the benefits are more cumulative.. There are 10 to 20 second holds recommended for the eye + jawline areas. Other than that, you just go round and round all areas, and 10 minutes would suffice a few times per week.
It can also be used on the body, and although I did try the leg portion while viewing the DVD, it isn't something I had the time, or inclination to continue..
I found the DVD very informative + useful, but the model with a face full of makeup was unnecessary and I thought she looked quite silly..
The only thing I would mention as a caution for those who might be considering this, is to go very easy if you are prone to broken caps.. I had a fiasco with this when I first got it, and did a very aggressive treatment at the highest setting.. |

Hey Kassy
I wanted to ask you if dermawand leaves a temporary glow after using it or your skin gets glowy from consistent use? |
