Hi, I am looking for a coloured mascara preferrably something that is subtle and not to bright. I would also prefer that it lenghthens and thickens the lashes. The colours i like are navy blue, plum and a violet. Any recommendations? Thanks

For plum and violet, try Lancome Flextencils (they have a nice plum shade) and also Blinc Kiss Me mascara (for the violet). Both very nice Smile Also, Clarins curling mascara has a violet shade as well which is subtle. That mascara tends to flake on me a little bit though...

I like Japanese Brand Mascara, such as Beaute de Kose, Shiseido. They have navy and violet.

I've tried the mascara in blue from Yves Rocher. The price is so reasonable.

My friend gave me an order form from Yves Rocher and I found lots of cheap but good stuff there.

YSL Aquaresistant comes in a really gorgeous purpley-violet, and, as the name suggests, it's waterproof.

If you're not bothered about waterproof, but want a natural-looking mascara that stays put pretty well, but washes off easily when you want, I can also recommend Dr Hauschka's blue. It's a definite navy colour.

I'm absolutely with Mabsy (again!) : don't buy Clarins, the colour is nice though, it gets flakey pretty fast. I'm getting back to Lancome, again and again.

I think a plum or aubergine colour would look beautiful on you.

Check out americanbeautyzonedotcom . There's a couple of mascara products which might be of interest to you. I do have a financial interest in that site, so I don't want to come across as the marketer, just so you know.

For a subtle and inexpensive option ... try the Cover Girl Exact Lash in "Blue" shade. It's a subtle denim blue shade ... I have naturally black lashes so it isn't very blue-ish on me, but on someone with lighter lashes, I can see it being very nice. Worth a try if it is available in your area.

Almay makes a nice colored mascara. I have the violet and topaz and I like them both.
