I did a search and I don't think this topic has been posted before (unless I totally missed it!).
I just had my hair done today and it brought a question to mind ... what products you currently using for your hair?
The salon I went to today carries Bumble & Bumble, so I ended up buying their "Gentle" shampoo and conditioner (my hair is getting dry with all the chemical processes I've been doing it ). Then I also picked up their Deep treatment for a once a week deep conditioning. I also got their Finishing Balm. Hopefully all these products will make my hair look like it did when she styled it! I can never make my hair look as good as they do.
Anyway, other products I'm currently using are:
AG Tech 2 Shampoo
AG Light Conditioner
Aveda Colour Conserve Shampoo & Conditioner
Bumble & Bumble Hair Powder in Blondish
Bumble & Bumble Bb Shine
Kenra Perfect Medium Hair Spray
Aveda Control Paste
Osis Tex It Bodyfier Gel
Plus I have another shampoo and conditioner on order from MMS (Make Me Smooth) in a scent I picked out from their list.
So I love the AG stuff and the Aveda stuff (although I guess my new Finishing Balm will replace the Control Paste). The Bumble & Bumble Hair Powder I'm undecided upon. I like to use it on my second day hair (I try to only wash my hair every two days so it doesn't dry out) to soak up any oil at the root. The Bb Shine I only used once so far and I think I sprayed too much on and my hair was really oily looking. And I'm not overly impressed with the Kenra or Osis. I'd like to buy replacements for those products.
I wanted to try the Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray today (instead of using the Osis), but they were out of stock.
What does eveyone else use and love? Maybe I'll get some ideas for the future. |

I like Matrix Biolage shampoo & conditioner, the aroma is soooooo good. I want to try the treatment Cera-Repair Pro4™, but they are not easy to find in Vancouver. |

I got to read more reviews to find out which shampoo/conditioner suit dry hair.
I still couldn't find one I like. |

I really liked ISO. It's a little difficult to find in Edmonton though. Currently I'm using KMS and it seems to do a pretty good job! |

I'm frequently changing shampoos, because every time I think I've found the PERFECT one, it gives me fantastic results for awhile and then "poops out". I always have at least 3 shampoos in the shower that I switch around/rotate. One thing that I've experimented with and made a constant in my routine is adding the following to every bottle of shampoo (note: these tips were from Carekate and work wonderfully): 1.) 1 T Herbal Shine Booster (from The Personal Formulator), 2.) 1 T Apple Cider Vinegar, and 3.) 30 drops Rosemary Essential Oil. Thanks, Carekate!
The one product that I stick with religiously is called "Short Sexy Hair Quick Change". It is a shaping balm that I use on my short hair to give it texture, shape, separation, and a finished look. I've tried gels, pomades (Uck--too greasy!), waxes (Uck again!) and other shaping creams, but this one has been the only product I've really liked. I have to use only a small (dime-sized) amount or my hair comes out too sticky. I rub it into my hands and then run it through my hair, shaping and fluffing as I go. It's good stuff. |

Oh, yea, I forgot to mention the best hairspray in the world--Sebastian Shaper Hair Spray. I can spray it on, shape/fluff my hair with my fingers, and go! It's not sticky and doesn't dry hard, but it keeps my hair in place. I it! |

I used to love this too! Infact, I'd probably still love it, but I get so distracted with other new products that I forget what used to really work well for me. |

I used to love High End Salon products like Sebastian, and Kerastase. My hair is chemically rebonded and I thought needed special care. But I found that they caused residues and buildup and dryness...
I've switched to Organics and loving it...
I love SLS free shampoos and CONE free conditioners.
So far I'm lovin A'kin line and Nature's Gate |

I have fine, bleach damaged hair which only looks close to decent if I use an assembly of Frederic Fekkai products. I tried to like organic lines but found they just did not do the trick. I think silicons can help the appearance of damaged hair but I agree it is not an ingredient with long term benefits... |

I'm getting fantastic results with the skinbio Folligen Shampoo and conditioner. After using that I use Pantene Deep Fortifying conditioner. Makes your hair sooo soft. the copper peptides help with hair thinning.
And of course the Ojon hair treatment as well. sometimes as a leave in. Get the small size on ebay for like $15-great bargain.
Every 4-6 weeks I use apHOGEE protein re constructor. You can't use this sort of concentrated protein treatment any more than that or your hair will break. You apply it, then blow dry your hair (without touching it)until it is dry and hard and then rinse out. |

I really like Komenuka Bijin Shampoo. This is one of those products that gets so many raves in magazines that I just had to try it to see if it lived up to the hype. At about $30 a bottle it is not cheap, but I keep buying it over and over! It is a low lathering shampoo so it takes a little getting used to. When I first started using it I was impressed with how it left my hair feeling soft but not weighed down. Was I willing to pay $30 a bottle for this, not really. A month or so later I noticed that my haircolor had barely faded and this is what keeps me buying more. It truly makes a difference in keeping my haircolor from fading. I sort of justify it by saying that I have to color my hair less and it is a great shampoo otherwise. I have tried other shampoos since but in the end I cannot be without a bottle of the Komenuka in the house! |

I'm a huge fan of B&B. I have/had owned just about all of their products at some point - even though I don't use much styling products day-to-day. Actually, I'm a product junkie - even though I hardly use them. Too much (or heavy) product just ends up weighing my hair down.
Does your salon sell the small 2oz size? I get the styling products in this size because I don't use them that often.
Favorite styling products (and I use every day):
Styling lotion (very lightweight, hair doesn't "crunch"). helps control my cowlicks during blowdry. Styling Creme is also good.
Does it all Styling Spray (blue can) - very light weight.
Frederic Fekkai glossing cream - use very little after blowdry to tame any flyaways/frizzies, and give hair shine.
Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray - strong hold. use this when I put my hair in a ponytail and need to keep my short layers back.
Shampoo & conditioners: (I rotate a lot of different ones to keep hair fresh)
I use thickening shampoo & conditioner when there is low humidity because my hair tends to be flat.. Works well! Also may use a bit of thickening spray (but I prefer the Styling lotion)
Also use Seaweed shamoo & conditioner if not high humidity.
Use Gentle Shampoo and Super Rich conditioner most days because of my color treated hair.
Use Sunday shampoo and Deep Conditioner the day before I'm going to color my hair. Use Fekkai Hair Mask with shea butter (LOVE this stuff) right after I color my hair. Frederic Fekkai Technician Color Care Mask is also great after coloring.
I have other stuff (more shampoos & cond. and styling/finishing), but the ones listed are what I most often use.
B&B Hair Powder & B&B Shine are next on my list. I had my stylist use it so I can see what it should look like. I liked it, but couldn't afford it at the time.
I want to try Fekkai Instant Volume Spray and Fekkai Wave Creating Spray. |

I ADORE the Ojon restorative treatment. I've been using it since it came out! I have very long, medium thick hair.
I use it as a deep conditioning treatment, and also as leave in (when my hair is wet...only a tiny tiny amount)
sometimes.
I never use it on dry hair...too oily.
Frederick Fekkai...LOVE the olive oil glossing cream and the straightening gel! Now that it's sold in Victoria's secret at the mall nearby (no Sephora in my town) I don't have to order it through Sephora.
The Wave creating spray wasn't great. You can only use it on dry hair (which I usually dry my hair naturally) and it got all sticky. So I swapped it on MUA.
I used to use the cream for curls (my hair is wavy) but it was more effective when my hair was shorter.
The white Smooth hair cream is not that impressive. I'd rather use the glossing cream. |
