Aloha everyone.
I'm currently using Vivier's 10% Vitamin C serum, and I really like it. (Smells nice, like green apples)
The thing is, I'm only partially successful at applying it. You're only supposed to use a few drops, and I can't figure out how to make them cover my whole face. I tried putting it on my fingers first, but then my fingers absorb most of it.
Usually I just drip the serum directly onto my face. Carefully, of course--I'm sure ascorbic acid would not be pleasant if dropped into the eye! This works okay, but most of the serum gets absorbed at the spot where the drops fall.
Someone suggested mixing it with the B5-gel and that worked great--until I figured out the gel was making me break out and I had to quit using it.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated. |

What does vitamin C really do for your complexion? Would using 5% under the eye decrease wrinkles? If so how long would it take before seeing results?
please reply, thanks |

Alohagirl,
G'day everyone :P
I'm using the Vivier 20% serum and here's what I do.
This will sound funny, but I don't like to keep opening and closing the bottle everyday so I transfer some into a little dropper bottle container (it's the container from the Vivier sample). Then I just put about 4 drops (about 3/4 of the little dropper I would say) onto my palm, touch my palms together, to get an even amount on each one, and then apply to my face. I don't use it on my neck, I guess I'd need another 2 drops to take care of that.
happyinlandofoz - vit C is supposed to help reverse some of the sun damage as well as help protect from further damage. From what I've read it pretty much helps with pigmentation, wrinkles, skin clarity etc It's supposed to be a good all-round product. Not quite sure how long you'd have to use it to see results, I'm using it as a preventative measure. From what I remember though, that guy on the Cellex-C brochure that apparently used Cellex-C on half his face used it for 6 months before the photos were taken.
HTH

Hi Aloha girl
I am sorry to hear that your skin is sensitive to B5 gel.
I actually do the same thing as Mabsy - which is drop 4 to 5 drops into my palm, pat both palms together a little, then pat both palms over my face, avoiding the eye area. On days when I am more bothered about little wrinkles, after this procedure, I drop an extra drop of Vit C on my palm, use my finger tip to pat on these "older" areas...
You know, Mabsy, I think we are going to get one pair of young looking palms..hehehe:D
Cheers

LOL, Jenny I never thought about that!
I wonder if that means that palm readings are skewed for people who use vitamin C serums this way (if you assume that they are not skewed in the first place that is ).

Fantasia,
Essential Day Spa (the host of this forum) has a good selection of Vitamin C serums. They also sell most of the products that we discuss here. (And their prices are excellent!)
There should be links at the top and/or bottom of your screen which take you "shopping at EDS..." |
