Warning: the following is gross.
So I was overzealous in popping a zit, and I ended up getting to the point where it was bleeding. This has left a huge, nasty scab behind as a reminder. I've been in this situation before a couple times, but I never know what to DO. You can't walk around with nasty scabs on you, just exposed...but putting makeup on them seems like it could only increase the damage. And a band-aid is also not too cool.
What to do?! |

Why can't you walk around with a scab on you? I had some procedure done few months ago and had about 20+ scabs on my face. I went to work the next day and I went to all of my kids' activities!! WITHOUT makeups!!!
*Sigh* This is the difference between a middle age woman and a young girl. |

I know how you feel. I overpicked a zit a couple of days ago and couldn't stand the sight of it bleeding, so i kept on drying it with tissue paper and piled on concealer, crossing my fingers that it wouldn't get re-infected. It didn't, but left a nasty scar. Lesson learned: only pick zits at night when you don't have to go out. Sigh. |

I've done that and it was at the corner of my lips. First it was red than the turned black (cuz of dead tissues), I just walked around like that. Nothing could hide it. By a 1 1/2 weeks it was gone. It's hard but just gotta wait til it heals. |

I've done this a million times and it never gets any easier to take. <sigh!> One thing that helps if you pick too much is to dampen a styptic pencil and run it over the area--- this will keep the zit from oozing/bleeding and it will result in a smaller scab. Juice Beauty Blemish serum seems to help speed the recovery of scabs for me, and of course drinking a lot of green tea will help you heal like you wouldn't believe! Oh, and PSF O2 serum is also very healing... HTH! |

I've done this too many times too. I am not sure if it's really help but I always applied tea neosporin and tree oil afterward, and aspirin mask to help with the redness. Sometimes it healed quickly but sometimes it took forever to heal. I guess it depends on the damages. |

I always do the same thing! Put Neosporin on it at night to heal it faster. That's probably all you can do. I just ordered Lumiport's Dermastyle Acne Pen. Hopefully it keeps me clear...
What do you normally do when you've overpicked a zit?? |

Oh boy, have I ever been there too. I do try to cover it up, but I think maybe that draws more attention to it. I can't help it though ... I can't NOT put concealer on it.
I don't have any great suggestions really. When I do something like that, I do try to blot it with a wet tissue or face cloth as well so it doesn't build up a big thick scab on top of it. And then I might put some of my clay mask on top of it to try to dry it out (although I'm not sure that's really ever helped alot, but I like to think I'm doing something to help it along ). |

I guess we shouldn't do this in the first place....However, I think that concealer only makes it worse so I dab some loose powder on it with a Q-tip. Okay, it does not make it disappear but it makes it less noticeable. |

Hey Erin, I have the Dermastyle pen and it works wonders. Shrinks underground cystic pimples overnight! And no drying creams!! |

oh man, that's like me right now. I have one on the side of my forehead that is just.....not good after squeezing. I have one on my upper lip corner of mouth that I honestly tried to leave alone but the zit just got huge and I HAD to pop it. now I'm trying not to pick at the scab so I won't have a scar. It's not cover-upable at all. good times.
I have one right between my eyes that honestly I'm so proud of NOT squeezing that I almost don't want to cover it up!
I just slather it with cover-up. I believe I'm such an expert at covering up zits after all my years of experience! I always ask my friends if it is noticeable and they can't even see the zit I'm talking about, so I must be doing a good job! |

I feel your pain! Unfortunately for me, I have a bad habit of picking when I'm deep in thought. I'm always trying to get rid of these spots that I've caused. Because I'm now 36, my skin's healing time has slowed down and I've really struggled with this issue. The fastest ways that I have found so far are these:
* cover it with a spot bandaid at night with neosporin on it. I often wake up in the morn with the sore significantly healed. The trick with this is to not let anyone see you with these silly bandaids on your face! I'm so sick of these bandaids that I'm working really hard to solve my acne/picking problem.
* vitamin C serum is, by far, the fastest healer of sores. Whenever I run out, I ALWAYS notice the difference because my sores heal so much slower.
* I've discovered the wonders of aloe vera gel. I really have noticed a difference in healing time whenever I use it.
These are just tips I've discovered on how to speed up healing time. I'm still trying to find a way to get rid of the red spots faster. Anybody have any ideas, I would be greatful for the advice!! The only thing I can't try is the aspirin mask because I'm either pregnant or nursing. I've heard that does wonders though. |
