Ever since I read about Bach's rescue remedy drops here on the board, I've kept them in the back of my mind. At my local grocery store, however, instead of selling the drops they sell a spray form of this product--- has anyone tried this? How does it compare to the drops?

I bought the spray and unfortunately it did absolutely nothing for me.

I have not bought the spray, but I assume it would work as well as the traditional flower essence tincture. I mean, it is the same, just in the spray format.

I have used Rescue Remedy in the tincture form and in the cream form. The tincture form did not much for me, but I liked the cream. I used the cream last summer when my skin went insane and it broke out for any and no reason and I could not tolerate anything. My skin actually tolerated it, but then Rescue Remedy is supposed to be for very traumatic situations in one's life. And my skin was in a stressful condition at the time.

I have used a bunch other Bach essences and they have worked really well if I used them properly, i.e. taking Aspen for mild anxiety and when I was not sure of what I was anxious of - insted of, let's say Crab Apple . I have tried Rescue Remedy tincure in a similar situation (lots of anxiousness in me, I admit) but it did not work.

I find that they do work for some people, but first you need to really listen to what your emotions are telling you (and really, I often prefer denial to knowing thyself) and then take approprite remedy.

On the other hand whenever I "misdiagnosed" my current condition and self-medicated with not quite the right essence, I experienced no harm. Except for, perhaps, a bruised ego ...Now, for that malady I am affraid I have not found a good flower essence. Yet.

Hope that helps.

missed the thread on Rescue Remedy, but i'm such a huge fan that it's the one item that's *always* in my purse. i don't really use it much, but for my claustrophobia it's a godsend! i believe the spray is for topical applications only. i'd wait it out and get the traditional dropper bottle.

I too am a huge fan of Rescue Remedy, I also like to add a few drops to my skincare products as I noticed that some of Neal's Yard's more expensive items have RR as an ingredient.
I have always wanted to purchase the box set of the flower essence remdies Wink

I've always been curious about the Bach essences. Are they basically meant to improve mental states, as opposed to physical conditions?

Yes, from what I know Bach essences are supposed to act on your mind and emotions. The idea here is (please correct me if I am wrong) that mental and emotional states are the cause of physical conditions.

Does anyone have any updates regarding use of RR? I am thinking of getting the little dropper bottle. I am going through some work and personal stress right now and I figure there's no time like the present for me to try this out.

Hi Marci! I ended up buying the spray---- I figured as high strung as I am, I can use all the help I can get! Laughing I'm not quite sure if it works yet or not (or if does more than say, a cup of chamomile tea), but I'll keep you updated!

other than it's my holy grails of holy grails??? it is the one thing i am *never* without! i usually only use this in emergency situations, but have on occassion done a few dropper fulls in my water bottle to sip on constantly when work and whatnot is really stressful. it *does* work! i'm not sure how and why, but it does.... highly highly recommended!

oh, and when i need it to work really fast, i just put the drops straight under my tongue, close my eyes, and belly breathe for a few moments. i am claustrophic and this is the *only* thing that has gotten me through some really bad times.

i didn't know that! how cool is that??? and i'll take you to a place that has real cheeseburgers, bun and everything, that we found today Laughing quite an exchange, non?

marci65 -- i meant to tell you that i use the liquid one that comes with a dropper. not the spray. much easier to control for internal use.

Funny but I just purchased the RR drops. It says to put 4 drops under the tongue, or you can put 4 drops in a glass of water and sip it. The herbal formula is in a 27% solution of grape alcohol. No wonder it works for some people!! I've only used it a couple times and it did nothing for me. I still felt the same way. (Actually I think its all pyschological.) I have to use it under stressful condition to really discover if it works well.

Love the spray! It's super easy to use. You can buy it in 2 sizes. I keep a small one with me always.

They've also come out with a new Sleep Relief spray which I haven't used as luckily I don't suffer from insomnia. But since RR has been so helpful to me, I have recommended the Sleep Relief spray to a number of friends. Don't know if anyone's bought it though.

why would you try it for anything *other* than stressful situations??? i honestly don't think it would work in every day life, nor should it. (that's like saying a lovely moisturiser doesn't do anything for your skin when your skin already has enough moisture.) nor do i think it's the alcohol in it. i've had far more alcohol than that in a stressful situation and RR was the *only* thing that calmed me.... we can agree to disagree, but i would be interested in your opinion once you try it again when you actually *need* it.

True, I was not under any stress when I used it and there is alcohol in it. Check the bottle ingredients.

A few years ago when I was going through a rough time, Bach's RR helped a lot. I used both the spray and the drops during that period. I think they worked equally well.

I dont think La vie en rose was disagreeing that there's alcohol in it, she just said she dosent think its the alhocol in it that makes you feel relaxed.

I bought the Rescue Sleep spray per a friend's recommendation. When I wake up in the middle of the night, I do one spray (I think the label recs 2 sprays to help with falling asleep initially). That has helped me fall back to sleep.

I have the dropper bottle for daytime needs of RR and I am going to start using it a lot until I get through this stressful time I'm in the middle of.

I have used the Rescue Sleep and I do think it works. My daughter and I both used it, actually. Probably is, we were going through it pretty fast and the $$ added up.
