I'm wondering if anyone has any input on a fabric I could to cover a small window that is not too heavy and can provide good protection against the sun shining through. Also, something that could be picked up at a Joann fabrics or any other popular fabric store (meaning no special ordering). thanks. |

I don't know of any certain texture, but black absorbs heat, and white reflects it. I would think anything would do, if your just looking to cover a small area-- it just depends on how much light you want to shine through. If you're going to be sewing, look at a pattern for curtains and see if it suggests a certain weight/ kind of fabric. My mom would totally know the answer to this question but she's asleep right now!! |

Maybe a dark colored canvas, or vinyl? Something dark will fade, however, so white vinyl, much like they use for shades, would work, I think. |
