I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who has difficulty finding good fitting short/petite length pants or jeans? I am short, and with heels, I can wear a standard 30" inseam ok. My current favourites for jeans are American Eagle low-rise skinny flare petite length jeans and also Abercrombie low-rise flare short length jeans. With all regular lengths, I have to get them shortened which adds another $10-15 to the cost of any pant or jean I buy
Does anyone know of any other brands/manufacturers that make nice fitting petite length jeans or pants with a low-rise? I heard BlueNotes used to make a 30" inseam? And Ricki's makes a short length pant, but I can't always find a low-rise fit. Sigh, it's sooo frustrating being short, so hard to buy pants and jeans! |

Hello!
I wear bluenotes 30" seam and don't have to have them hemmed up. I'm 5'2".
Those are the only jeans I wear as they fit me perfectly. |

I'm not sure what my inseam is because the jeans I own or tried on recently aren't coded that way. I'm 5'5" and seem to recall being a 31" or 32" inseam when I wore Levi's 501's in college.
Even though we're different heights, I think these suggestions might help.
GAP "short" jeans and pants look great on me with flats but not with heels and not after washing them, so I think they might be good for you to wear with a medium heel. Same for Polo Ralph Lauren "short" jeans. Both are available in low rise.
If you ever needed a pant suit, Tahari petite might work. I've bought Tarahi petite when I don't want to spend the money to have the regular length altered and I'm willing to wear flats with it, like for work travel when I'm heaving a lap top around unfamiliar streets. Tahari petite would probably work for you with a medium heel. Their pant style is like a men's flat front trouser, so it has a nice low rise.
I was also recently bopping around Ann Taylor and noticed that their petite might be similar to Tahari (a little on the longer side) as opposed to Talbots, which are really short, IMO.
As you can see, I also struggle with lengths because "regular" is often just a little too long. Unless it's a pant suit, which I would invest in tailoring, I just suck it up and wear them with heels or let the pants drag a little with flats. I usually end up strinking the length through washing, anyway... although in another recent post, someone educated me on how to prevent shrinking by never drying jeans and using a no-wrinkle softener in the wash. Can't wait to try this on the jeans that actually fit well for me - Gap "regular" and DKNY. |

Is BlueNotes a Canadian line? It reminds me of Old Navy, whose jeans I have either a hit or miss with!
I heard that the Victoria Secret jeans in the shorter length are good, but I've not tried them.

Yeah, Bluenotes is Canadian.
Old Navy also makes petite sizing, but they fit me HORRIBLY. The jeans are way to "hippy" on me and gape in all sorts of weird places.
I heard that GAP short jeans are good as well, but I have yet to try them on.
Ohh..my Citizens fit well, but I have to get them hemmed up...like 1'. Its crazy. I hate that some store make their lengths standard! |

Try Frankie B. They're gorgeous and they hug short petite hips really well. |

I'm petite and have trouble finding good fits as well. I used to buy all my jeans from Bebe because they always fit perfectly (never had to hem them either) and had such great styles but then they changed their merchandise to more business and career items.
I recently purchased two pairs of Miss Me jeans from a small boutique in O.C. that fit incredibly well. I plan on buying more of this brand in the future.
I also have a couple pair of Abercrombie & Fitch jeans that I wear often for casual days. |
