I never knew all the awesome ways to use my makeup primer. Several days ago forum member serenity posted this site as one of her favorite websites. Listening to the 20 minute tutorial by the makeup artist is well worth the time. My makeup looks wonderful after learning some primer secrets.
Enjoy

Thanks Winnie! I have never tried primer before. Do you find it's a good thing to use? |

I never used a primer before I joined EDS. tidieu, it makes such a difference!!! It conceals the pores in the T zones, softens fine lines and your makeup glides on. Makeup stays on top of your skin rather then settling in pores and lines. I also find my makeup lasting most of the day. Before my skin just absorbed makeup and I looked washed out by early afternoon. After listening to the audio on primers I have learned the proper way to apply. Although I liked using it before, now I am getting optimal results.
After listening to the makeup artist, I am applying my primer with a makeup brush...also my foundation. I find that I prefer primer with liquid foundation. I would like to hear more from those who use primer with minerals.
Just yesterday, I applied my primer (Smashbox Photo Finish) to my lips before using my tinted gloss. I could not believe how long the gloss stayed on my lips.
Primer makes a significant difference in your complexion. I don't wear foundation on a daily basis but when I do primer is a must. LOVE IT!!!! |

Thanks Winnie! I looked at Smashbox. They have several primers. I don't know which one I should get. Which one do you use? Do you find Smashbox primer make you more or less oily? Have you tried MAC?
I was going to buy Clinique Instant Pore Perfector to help minimize my pores but I might give Smashbox a try if it helps minimize pores too. I just hope that I don't break out from all the silicones.
I like to know how primers work with minerals too. I hope someone will post about their experiences soon. |

I use the colorless Smashbox Photo Finish. I have combo "Mature" skin. In the summer I get oily in the T zone. It is summer here now. This morning I used the primer and a liquid foundation and I have no oily look in my T Zone. The primer has held my foundation and blush perfectly. I am not prone to breakout.
According to the makeup artist from the link I gave she suggest Mac for oily skin. When using Mac you can use it in place of a moisturizer under makeup. Smashbox for mature skin.
Her tutorial from the link has a wealth of information.
A few member on EDS have mention Monistat Chafing Relief Power Gel works just as well as Smashbox for a fraction of the cost. I purchased it today for $7.99. I only applied it to my hand but it feel quite the same as putting on Smashbox. I will let you know how it works. |

I recently bought Laura Mercier Primer and I am very impressed. I had never used a primer before either. My sister has tried smashbox and she loves it.
Great tip about using it on my lips...I'll try that tomorrow. |

I love the Joey New York Correct-a-Line--it really smooths out fine lines and makes the large pores on my nose disappear! I also use it under my concealer and it helps it stay put all day and not crease. Can't wait to try it under my lipgloss Thanks for posting this!! |
