Several months ago I read an article said that some women do mask everyday and that works pretty good. They said that every week they would do several masks including: one or two deep cleaning (exfoliating) masks, one or two brightening (whitening) masks, and the rest are the moisturizing masks. One of the movie stars also says that she has been doing this for years and her skin is so nice. She doesn't have any wrinkles and age spots although she is already forty something. Then I decided to follow them. I think the sheet mask is the best choice for me as it's easier to use and less irritations to the skin. I bought bunch of sheet masks at very good price.(I negotiated with the seller as I bought a lot). I was happy. Then I was doing mask every day until my friend told me that it was not good that to do the mask every day. I went to some stores and asked some BAs but their answers are various. I'm so confused now. Does anyone can give me the correct answer and explain the reason?
Thanks! |

I have to admit that I have a REALLY hard time NOT putting a mask on my face every day! I'm such a skin care addict that I just love to use masks and lotions and serums. I'm trying to use mostly the Dr. H. system but I just can't seem to stop using masks almost every day!
I don't see anything wrong with it because I'm responding to the needs of my skin. I have cut back on deep cleansing or deep moisturizing masks though. I think I was making my skin swing back and forth too much. Now I use honey in the shower for a few minutes and a green tea mask if I feel the need to do one every day. They are nice and gentle but really help the skin. |

I must admit to masking almost every day as well. Usually 5 nights a week. I just love the pampered feeling I get when doing a mask!!!

Dear everyone, thanks for your responds. I just have a few questions. What kind of mask do you guys using, peeling or sheet mask? Some people told me that if we use mask every day, the skin will rely on the nutrition that the mask gives to it, and will not enhance its function by skin itself. Sometime skin will overloaded or has other problems due to daily mask. I'm at the middle of 30th, my skin is good, I don't know if I do mask everyday would help my skin maintain the young condition as I already appears age sign such as sagging skin arround the eyes. |

Years ago I used to do masks everyday. Geez I haven't done a mask now in like 2 weeks, I need to do an aspirin mask again. I love masks but I never seem to have the time or the patience for them. A lot of them you can't talk or move your face or they'll crack and I can never do that. I personally think its better not to do them everyday, or at least not to mix and match different ones, like if you have one that you know doesn't make your break out and that's helping your skin every time you do it, than go at it and use it everyday, but its bad to experiment with new ones because then if you break out you can't pinpoint which one it was as breakouts can show up days later. |

I'm with you guys too, I do masks around 5 times a week! 2 purifying, 1 whitening, 1 renewing pack & 1 moisturing sheet mask or cream mask...I found my skin condition is much better after doing mask more frequently. |

Yeah, what IS a sheet mask? Is that one of those ones that's like a piece of fabric that you have to unfold and apply over your face with little holes for eyes and mouth? |

I know this sounds like a lot, but I definitely do masks just about every day...if I don't, I definitely notice a difference in my skin. I use a clay mask until it dries (5-10 minutes), then I usually leave one Burts Bees Orange Essence cleanser on as a mask for about 15 (then I massage it around and remove. So far I love the results. |

Alright, okay.. seriously, You've convinced me.
Its beneficial to do a mask more than once every two months. I'm gonna *try* to get one in today. |

I think it depends on what kind of mask you're using.
Doing a clay mask everyday is a mistake and will ultimately have the opposite of the intended effect. No matter how oily you're skin is, if you deplete it DAILY with a clay mask, the result is that your skin is going to produce more oil.
Restorative masks are a bit different and I don't think you will do any harm, although you might not necessarily be getting any greater benefit than if you masked a little less frequently.
As for peel masks, most of them recommend the frequency with which you can use them. It's usually wise to pay attention to those instructions. A little variation isn't a problem, but I think we often are overly aggressive in the quest for perfect skin. |

Wow .. you guys are so addicted!!
haha I do mask everyday too unless I'm too tired or lazy.
I don't think doing it everyday will hurt the skin, I use different kinds of masks everyday and my skin has no problem with them. I LOVE LOVE masks..
I think what's important is that you need to pay attention to the instructions and you will be okay.
laine , PhoebesMeow : sheet mask is exactly what PheoebesMeow described. |

You guys are so nice. Thanks for you information. Let me tell you what I do. Usually I do clay mask once a week, use Borghese(green one). I do exfoliation mask(wash out) about every ten days, use Elizabath Arden(clear the way). The rest I do sheet mask only. I rarely use peeling mask now. I highly recommend sheet mask. But I only use the Natural materials extracted sheet mask. Sheet mask is exactly like PhoebesMeow explained. Because no peeling and no washing makes it easier to use and less irritation to the skin. When I put sheet mask on my face, I can still do what ever I want. I watch TV, do laundry, cooking...I let the mask stay on my face about 15 mins, then I take off the mask. if it's night time, probably I don't need put any other cream as the sheet mask already contains a lot of essence. If it's early in the morning, I do Moisturizing sheet mask for about 5 to 10 mins, then do make up. and I can feel fresh all day long. I have different type of sheet mask, moisturizing, whittening, oil controling, elastic,Vitamin E... After I take off the sheet mask, I wash the sheet and keep the sheet in the refrigerator. Next time, when I do clay mask, I put the clean sheet on top of clay mask, it is excellent. I suggest that those who always do DIY mask can try this way. The result will be double. Now, I think I would do mask everyday as so many people give me support. I hope can still hear from you guys some good ideas. |
