My skin is pretty dry, but I can't seem to find the right moisturizer. I'm QUITE happy with Dermalogica's Intensive Moisture Balance, but would still like something more moisturizing, but not greasy. It is only OK if I use the Skin Hydrating Booster underneath it, and the Skin Smoothing Cream is way too light.
I haven't had any better luck with many other brands, either. Decleor was OK (Nutri-delice), but somehow I would, as I say, like more moisture. Right now, I am trying out Exuviance's Essential Multi-defense Day Cream SPF 15, but it is probably the worst cream I have ever tried! Something in it just "pills" off my skin and leaves a white, dusty layer when I touch it, and my skin has also gotten drier. The Hydra Continue for dry skin from Phytomer was quite qood, but also a bit over the top fragrance-wise.
The best moisturizers I have tried have come from Shiseido and Helena Rubinstein, but somehow, using dept. store brands gives me a bad conscience.
Help! Any advice/thoughts? My skin is clear and looks fine, and I have no particular problems with it, but would like more moisture. |

Using a facial oil underneath your moisturiser can help give you a moisture boost.
Décleor make some good ones, but you can buy other oils much more cheaply that can also work very well.
Camellia Seed Oil, Emu Oil, Squalene, amongst others, are great for this purpose. They help your moisturiser to go on really smoothly afterwards, too. |

I already have an oil/serum that I bought from the aesthetician. It is from a brand called Danné, and I think it contains soybean oil. It works well, but somehow, I forget to use it. And I would really like to have all in one product. |

Neal's Yard Remedies' Frankincense Cream is nice and rich, but it's meant for mature skin and I'm not sure how old you are.
Again for mature skin, Philosophy's When Hope Is Not Enough is very moisturising.
Crème de la Mer and Chantecaille's Bio-Dynamic Lifting Creams worked spectacularly well at plumping and hydrating my own dry skin - but the cost is pretty astronomical.
It'll probably be just a question of trial and error in finding the right one for you, especially if you want an all-in-one. |

Juice Beauty's Nutrient Moisturizer is rich, very moisturizing, sinks right in and not greasy. Smells great too. |

Two products I can highly recommend are:
MD Forte's Replenish Hydrating Cream (staple for me)
SkinMedica's Rejuvenative Moisturizer (this a wonderful product for the price, I'm just about to finish a jar of it. It now is packgaged in a hygenic tube vs a jar.)
You might want to look into purchasing a product that contains hyaluronic (sp) acid. I think Reviva makes one. This can be found at yuor local health food store or online. You could use this under your regular moisturizer for added hydration.

Primavera's Nourishing cream is terrific. Very moisturizing but doesn't leave that heavy greasy feeling some creams do. |

Hi Nemi,
i would try DHC, they're only online and have a few booths in selected malls in california. They have a whole section of moisturizers for dry skin. DHC, i find is similar to shiseido in terms of gentleness, they may even be more so as they are fragrance and color free. DHC is also a japanese company. i have tried quite a few of their products either through purchasing myself of from their samples (they give a LOT out), and depending on your age, i would either try their ceramide milk or cream (both are very moisturizing)or their very popular coenzyme q10 cream. good luck ok! |
