I applied a 12.5% MUAC peel on Saturday night. I think I was too timid, though...most of my face appears almost untouched, except for a wrinkle on my forehead and some red spots. I did apply the TCA somewhat lavishly there.
* I'm not peeling
* I have brown spots where my red marks were.
Did I mess up? Will my red marks (left over from a breakout) peel or get worse? Should I reapply the TCA on the untouched areas??
Thank you!! |

Saracen I have no experience with TCA peels so I cannot say what the correct way to use it is. I have had plenty of glycolic acid peels and have gotten brown spots from them. If you leave the brown spots alone and let them peel naturally you should not have any scars or anything. If you actually have raw spots they may need some time to heal (if they look really red and raw see a dermatologist).
IMO you should wait until the brown spots are gone and any raw spots have healed before you put any acid anywhere near your face. Don't try to do the untouched areas until the rest of your face is healed. You may want to try to find out why you had the results you did before you try again. I cannot help you there but maybe someone who has experience with TCA can offer you some insight on this. |
