i broke out HORRIBLY from the darphin purifying balm.. i havent had big cystic acne bumps in a year and WOW i am very unhappy with darphin right now.
i was really interested in the decleor ylang ylang line........ would it help with cystic acne or is it more of just a oil control kinda thing? |

I find that the Ylang Ylang helps with shrinking popped zits. Did nothing for my cystic acne whatsoever in terms of size/redness. |

Smqueen,
Decleor's Rose D'Orient balm "dissolves" my bumps overnight.
From what I heard from Decleor Sales assistant, ylang ylang is for oily skin, like a general routine.
Harmonie routine (in which Rose D'orient balm is a part) - that's for all sorts of irritated skin. It works great for me, but my skin is not oily.

When I decided to buy one of those lines I decided on Decleor generally because it was less expensive and I got a sample of it first. Also I read MUA so I realize that Ylang Ylang may be better than Darphin. Sales told me that they work the same, that the balm is the same as Decleor's Essential Balm. I'm sure Ylang Ylang won't give you cysts as I am using it right now and it's the FIRST product ever that has really kept my oil in check, I only blot ONCE during the day, even if my day is 12-14 hrs long. I tried Clarin's Lotus Oil before that and it worked for a while (still not as good as Ylang Ylang) but it stopped working, I think Lotus is too rich for my skin. That's why I'm now skeptical about what products people say are "the same" or have the "same effects" because even 1-2 different herbal oils might have a different effect on your skin. You can also look into Dr. H's normalizing oil or PSF's balancing oil. PSF's ingredients are almost the same as Decleor's except for 1-2 botanical oil differences. Dr.H has pretty different ingredients, but both of them has gotten good reviews here so before you decide on one, perhaps you should do a little research.

I was using the decleor balm at night for a few days and it seemed like my face looked better when I stopped using it. I think it clogged my pores, or maybe I was using it wrong. I put a ddf nutrient k under it so maybe thats why. The ylang ylang oil is more of a control thing I think. I use it with the lotion and I think it helps alot with my shine. |
