My pores were never a problem-you could never see them!! Over the last week or so I can really see them ! Really only on my cheeks. What is up with that? My face is greasy too . Is there anything I can do?
TIA

Have you changed moisturiser or been using anything new recently?
Using a toner after cleansing will help close pores and a few drops of Jojoba oil used instead of or before moisturing should help control the oil production. |

I agree with Rosebud. I find that Dr. H's toner helps close the pores and control oil without being at all drying. The jojoba oil is also a good idea, or you could try any of the other oil-control oils lurking around, such as Ylang Ylang, PSF's Balancing Oil, Dr. H's day oil, etc. And of course, a dusting of Jurlique's Rost Dust never hurt anyone!^-^ |

Rosebud-
yes I have started using Almay's Cleansing Lotion and Daily Moisturizer last week. It is formulated for oily skin. Do you think this is the cause? For a toner I usually use witch hazel but I haven't been using it as much. Maybe I should ditch the Almay...
Thanks! |

ManslayerLiz!
I want to try The Jurlique Rose/Lavender silk powder. Which one would be best for my skin? It is oily and acne-prone. I am trying to wait to buy it hoping that one of these weeks I will win the $50 gift certificate!
Thanks! |

Hi ErinChristine! Well, I've personally never tried the Lavender Dust, but I've heard that they both work about the same, so it comes down to which scent you prefer. (I'm SUCH a rose girl...^-^) HTH! |

Agreed ... no difference between Lavender and Rose powder. It is just a personal favor of scent |

You might also want to incorporate something like OCM or a clay mask (or both) to help pull the debris out of your pores. Debris inside your pores can actually make them look larger as it makes them sort of expand. If you do try that route, definitely use a toner afterward to prevent it from happening again.
Once your pores are definitely clear, you could try the Milk of Magnesia trick or maybe start using a primer under your makeup if you already aren't. This helps prevent makeup from absorbing into your pores, in my experience. Hope this helps!
Jojoba oil, as others mentioned, is an excellent suggestion as well. |

From reading the forums it seems that JB's Green Apple Peel will help refine pores as well as cleansing them out. I just ordered mine for this purpose (as well as lightening acne pigmentation).
Maybe you can try it as well. |

Sormuimui, I have large pores too and can't find a product which can tighten them. Please write a review later and tell us how much you like the Green Apple Peel. |

I'll definitely do so! However there are already many reviews written regarding this product and lots of raves about it, maybe you can try searching for "juice beauty" or "green apple" you'll probably find lots^^ |

It might be that the Almay has caused your skin to become quite oily, especially as you say it has only happened in the last week and they were never a problem before.
I would go back to the skincare regime you used before you started the Almay products and see if your skin returns back to normal first. |

I use Clinique pore minimize.... I think it's hard to make pores smaller but easy to make them look smaller |

This product clogged my pores and made me break out I think if you wanted to just make them LOOK smaller I'd suggest Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch (the makeup primer). |

I have large pores around my nose on my cheeks. I've tried clay mask and peel (PSF) in the hope that they will clear them and thus minimize pore size, but with not much success. (but they do clear out my pores and reduce blackheads on my nose, but my pores are still visible!) I'm now using ISC Active Serum after reading so many reviews saying it helps reduce pore size and even make the face poreless. I'll report if I see good results from it. |

I saw a product advertised and some research on mixtures of AHAs being good for pore reduction. When I peel I've only been spot peeling so I haven't tried putting it on large pore areas maybe I'll try this.
Active serum has glycolic and lactic acids so it could work.
I make my own from glycolic/lactic/citric acids and adjusting pH. I also add green tea extract and arginine. (All from the Personal Formulator, I think the arginine came from SKin actives) |

I was told by a specialist that you can't actually change the size of your pores, you can only "minimize their appearance."
Sigh. My pores are somewhat large and I have oily skin. The good thing (about the oil) is apparently I will get wrinkles less (ha...doesn't make me feel better right now!), or so I've been told.
xoxo! |

How about Neutrogena Pore Refining Mask? Anyone tried this before and does it really help in reducing the pore size? |

there are trial sizes of the active sold on ebay. I only bought one of those and a trial size of the hydracool, because aren't I supposed to use that over the active? I got it to see if it would help with pores also after doing a search on eds. I hope it helps. I am at my witts end with these stupid holes. |

Hydracool is to be used over the Active, but you don't have to. I do, but I need extra moisture. |
