Research shows that emu oil slows healing in the first stages but helps later. |
Really? Never heard about it!!! It might explain why I am noticing the slow healing now. How long is the first stage? I hope I am getting closer to "later" stage now. |

I recommend neosporin until the wound heals over, and then mederma for any scarring. Also internal supplements such as GNC's skin and hair, and MSM help.
I have recently started using vitamin C, and I noticed that a bad pimple I got healed much faster than usual for me. |

Emu oil with a bit of tea tree oil dilutes, works 100x better than neosporin for me! The tea tree oil is anti-bacterial so you don't need to worry about not using an official anti-bacterial ointment. Tea tree oil can be very drying though, which is not good for healing skin, so dilute it very well. |

For injured skin caused by a breakout - Emu oil and tea tree oil.
Non-breakout related - neosporin (body); polysporin (face) |
Why do you recommend neosporin for the body and polysporin for the face? Do they each have specific ingredients that are/aren't preferible to the skin on the face and body? |
Neosporin has neomycin in it - this medicine frequently causes a negative reaction (swelling and irritation) in sensitive skin such as on the face. I found this out the hard way when broken skin caused by a pimple swelled to 10 times its original size. I didn't know what the heck it was until I read that neomycin can be a skin irritant for facial skin although it is okay on other areas. When I tried polysporin, I had no such inflammatory reaction (thank goodness!). I have never had an adverse reaction to neosporin on the rest of my body - weird, huh? Bacitracin would probably work just as well. |

Near Magic which is a blend of awesome essential oils. I put it on everything. Actually only thing that works for me on cystic acne, ingrown hairs, even good for those burrs that get into my dog's paws that used to be a $200 trip to the vet! |

Healing not in terms of making the acne go away, but helping to take the scars away - Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. This is their star product .. I bought to to get te EL bonus at the Bay, and I fell in love with it few days after use. My acne problem relates to hormones and I get quite a few acne on my chin and cheeks and they've left some scars. This helped to speed up the healing process to take the scars away quicker. In a matter of days I feel my scars getting lighter and my skin calmer than usual. I've been using this for about a month now, and so far it is proven to be a healing item as the description indicates! |

I am a bit lost, what are you using on your cystic acne, ingrown hairs and burrs that get stuck on dog's paws?
Your post really caught my attention. |
