Hello,
I've gone to every drug store, walmart, target and so forth. But I can not find uncoated aspirin, I see either coated or thinly coated.
I remember reading somewhere that it's better to have uncoated aspirin in order to make the mask. That coated is not as effective. If I get the thinly micro-coated aspirin, would it still work?
TIA |

Hi
The thinly coated might work, but I think the only reason people say NOT COATED is only because the uncoated disolve and the coated, may but not as well.
Do you have a .99 cent or $1.00 tree store in your area? What about a Long's, Rite Aid? I bought mine at both of those places. |

I think the benefit of uncoated is that they'll disolve more easily. If I only had coated I'd crush them up a bit and then add the water. Should work out fine that way. |

Speaking of aspirin . . . I usually use the generic uncoated aspirin from Walgreen's, and I've always found that they dissolve quickly, as soon as liquid is added (I use Witch Hazel instead of distilled water in my concoction). Yesterday I bought a bottle of uncoated generic aspirin from Long's Drugs, and for some reason they didn't dissolve as easily as the Walgreen's brand. The aspirins LOOK the same, but when mixing the ingredients in my DIY mask, I found that the Walgreen's brand seems to be easier to work with.
I don't think it was just my imagination. (?) |
