As I've mentioned before, my skin does not tolerate sulfur well. I used to be able to use it with impunity (I washed my face with sulfur face washes, used sulfur treatments, etc etc), but out of the blue I developed a sensitivity to it and I had to stop using it. A few years later I tried to use sulfur products again, and they worked fine for a while but then I developed the same sensitivity and I had to stop. ANYWAY, I've recently been using Yonka's Emulsion Pure, and I have been enjoying it so, so much that I would like to try other Yonka products. I would esp. like to try Juvenil, but one of the last ingredients is Ichtammol, which contains sulfur. I guess I'm just wondering if my skin might be able to tolerate it, since it contains such a small amount of sulfur. Is anyone else out there sensitive to sulfur? What's your experience with products that contain only a small bit of sulfur? |

I am allergic to sulfur-based antibiotics and once my derm put me on a prescription sulfur rosacea topical lotion and my skin went crazy! I am okay with a topical containing it in small amounts but I have not tried Juvenil. |

Thanks for weighing in, Annie! I'm also allergic to sulfer-based antiobitics like Sulfa, etc--- can't go near em! Just out of curiosity, what was the topical treatment that made your skin go nuts? |

i am not allergic to sulfur, but I hear it is a common thing. My derm prescribed me sodium sulfacetmide + sulfur, which is supposed to be good for acnes and rosacea. When I went to the pharmacy and get it, I had a chat with the pharmacist and he said that, it is common that people are allergic to sulfa. |

I was wracking my little pea brain trying to remember but I can't. It was about 4 years ago and I tried it for just a brief few weeks. I know they also prescribe it for acne. |

I remember giving it to my son who was breaking out at the time and he used it. It had a lotion in it. Oh well. |

I have used some products that have sulfer in them. I don't believe I ever experienced any allergies, but I don't remember it really helping out my situation either. Probably just another one of those 100 products I have tried and got no results, so never went back. I would remember if I broke out or had some reaction to it. I do keep a list of NEVER USE AGAIN products. Clinque is one of them. |
