Hi, I need some advice. I have had acne for about 10 years now. I have it under control on my face thanks to Decleor, and the scars left are healing due to prolagene gel. However I'm still stuck with acne on my back, chest and shoulders I've tried tea tree, loofah scrubs, exfoliating but nothing seems to shift it. I've noticed that while alot of brands deal with acne on the face there's not as many products for the body!
Please Help!! |

I really do sympathise with you, I used to have acne on my back and shoulders too.
The best way to treat acne is internally.
What helped me was supplements of Zinc, Vitamin A, B Complex, I started off on quite high doses until I noticed a marked improvement then gradually reduced. |

Yep and benzyl peroxide topically daily or twice daily.
If you are male, its harder to combat it because of male hormones triggers it. |

I wouldn't use benzoyl peroxide on your body because it will bleach your clothes, ugh!! My sister suffers from body acne and here's what works for her: clay mask on the affected areas a few times a week, followed by either an anti-acne body spray (murad and mark each make one), OR just an anti-acne serum such as Juice Beauty's Blemish Serum (this makes my body break outs go away over night). Do you live in the US? If you do, there's a dandruff shampoo sold here that contains both salicylic acid and sulfur (forget what it's called but if you want I can look it up for you--- it's the one in the green square-ish bottle...), and washing with that before your other treatments will literally clear up even your worst body break outs within days. |

Thanks for all your help!
I live in the UK with a distinct lack of Sephora stores!!
Looks like a trip to the states is on the cards - with empty travel bags!! |

Hi Louise,
I am wondering if you conditioner before you cleanse your body? i have heard that conditioner can break the body out if it is used as the last step in your shower. i usually shampoo, conditioner, soap my body up then do face wash last. |

Hi SmileKate
I used Gatineau's Melatogenine Cleanser, Decleor's Mattifying Toner, Decleor Ylang Ylang Aromessance, Decleor Prolagene Gel, Decleor Hydro Floral.
Decleor do a mattifying moisturiser but I found my skin needed more hydration than it gave. This took about 2 months to really see clear skin but it worked for me!!
Hope this is the info you wanted! |

I suffer from body acne, too -- chest, back, shoulders. Hate it. It seems to be particularly bad for me this summer, to the point where I can't wear tanks and so far have avoided wearing a bathing suit.
However, I have a beach vacation lined up SOON... does anyone know of some quick fixes for the body acne? I've got to get this under control and I'm working within a short time frame (3 wks)! |

i think i have posted this in other thread, but yeah.... you can use salicylic acid. i have this salicylic acid thing that i have been using on my back and it dries out back acnes in at most a week. it stings tho, so better do a pathc test. |

oh, i forgot to mention that the salicylic acid is pretty cheap and since you only need to use a little at a time, it lasts forever. |

Thanks for all of your help and advice. Has anyone tried using glycolics for acne at all?
I've been reading quite a bit about them but would appreciate any first hand knowledge??
Cheers

I think BHA is better than AHA for treating acne, as BHA is oil soluable while AHA is only water soluable. I use BHA on my husband's back (he tends to have acne on body too) and it's working pretty well. |
