My brother is living in Sweden for a short time. I am thinking about asking him to go to the drugstore and just pick out a couple of fun looking lip balms. Is there something more specific I should be asking for? I know that things are so expensive in Sweden - is there anything that I can't get here, or that is way cheaper over there? I don't want to send him all over the place, but I think that he would be willing to put in a little foot work! Suggestions??? |

I'm not completely sure - but you might want to have him checking out Dr H products? I'm in Oslo, Norway, so I would think the prices are similar. |

Ren is Swedish. I don't get on with their facial creams etc but their shower gels and bath oils are *****amazing*****
Probably not a great place for shopping generally though as stuff is so pricy
But things i like which are good value:
Trousers from Filippa K are cool.
Except for that
'Swedish caviar'
Dime bars
and the old pickled herring of course |

Ren is not Swedish actually. The name "Ren" is but the company is not Swedish. I've never seen this product line here.
Dr. Haushcka products would be worth buying here since they are half the price as in the USA and Canada. They sell them at health food stores called, "Naturapotek" or also at department stores like Åhlens although they will cost more there. |

REN's English - but, as Anna says, the name makes it a little confusing. |

No it's not skincare....it's caviar!! It's just not considered proper caviar as it is not from sturgeon but cod. As a result, it's also a lot cheaper.
Saying that dont some skincare products use caviar? Maybe you could get some and put it on your face..!!
(BTW everyone is right, Ren is British not Swedish, it just has a Swedish name and my Swedish friend in London is addicted to it hence my confusion) |

No probs..my hubby told me off for not explaining properly in the first place...it is a skincare forum after all...maybe I shouldn't indulge in my greater indulgences Anyway, out of the non caviar 'caviar', I think Finnish is best anyway...the vodka isn't half bad either |

Dr. H. is not from Sweden. Why would it be cheaper there? |

Wasn't that just compared to Dr H prices in the US? Probably European Union reasons. EU trading stuff sadly doesn't normally translate to the UK as rents and wages are higher here |

Out of curiosity, how much is Dr H in Sweden or Oslo?
I've just done a spot check on Rose Day cream 30ml.
EDS £14.02
http://www.drhauschka.co.uk £16
It said in the Sunday Times style supplement today 'DR HAUSCHKA
Very pricey, very pure. Rose Day Cream is reaching cult levels'
Very pricey..?! Around £15 for a moisturiser...?! Sounds a bit bargain basement to me..or have I been haging out here listening to everyone rave about their ISC? |

I am in Norway.
Rose day creme cost about 12 GBP at my local naturapotek. They have actually raised the price about 2 GBP over the last year after their online sales took off. |

I purchased Rose Day cream recently here in Sweden and it cost 135SEK which is a little under £10 or $18 USD.
Dr. Hauschka and Weleda products are cheaper here (usually 50% less) than in other countries. Of course the products don't have far to travel to us from Germany. On the other hand most everything else is MORE expensive here than in other places. |
