Well, I decided to have a relaxing bath and take some time to do a weekly peel with my EmerginC AHA and BHA treatment, which I have done about weekly for almost a year now.
Because I was in a warm bath, the steam probably "opened up" or prepped my pores, because this stuff stung when I put it on, whihc it hasn't done before. So I soldiered on, and left it on for the usual 7 minutes (or around about - hey I was "in the bath", I didn't have my watch on. But it would have been around that, I don't linger my friends ). Anyway, after I washed it off and layed there relaxing, my SO burst into the bathroom, turned on the light (I was enjoying candles), and looked at me. All of a sudden he asked what was wrong with my face. Apparently it was VERY red, and had some white patches around my mouth.
Anyway, I got out of my bath and looked in the mirror, and he was right!!! My face looked like it's worse on a VERY bad sunburn day, in fact I thought it was going to peel!!! (the white pacthes were the bits I missed when I put the mask on in the bath without a mirror ). It was red and quite sensitive all night!!
However, when I woke up the next day, my face was smooth and calm, like it had never happened and there was no dryness, or flaking (I was CONVINCED I was going to peel), and my skin looked the best in had in a long, long time!!!
Anyone else experienced this or similar???? Should I do it again, or am I pushing my luck and really doing damage??? |

I sometimes do my Pumpkin Enzyme Peel in shower and it seems to work better. But never have the same experience as yours. |

Something similiar happened to me--burning & extreme redness when using the DIY Super-Sonic mask one evening. I was scared I had chemically burned my face, but the next day everything was fine. Then my SO pointed out that I had gotten a sunburn on my face that day--that was what had caused the burning and the redness. I had forgotten that I had been in the sun for hours that day and I guess my sunscreen "pooped out". Were you out in the sun that day? |

I did my Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel for the first time last night, and it didn't realy sting or anything while I had it on. When I washed it off though, my face was very very red--like a bad sunburn. I was alerted to this possibility though by a lot of people on the board, and it didn't hurt, so I didn't worry about it.
Within 30 minutes or an hour I looked normal and my skin feels great.
I really think the heat/steam from your bath is what caused the problem. When you heat up it's normal to get a little flushed, and if you had a peel product on it probably just exacerbated that, or your skin's sensitivity. |
