Yep, freckles127 is right. EFAs are essential fatty acids and the more I've been taking of them, the better results I have been getting. I started off just taking a multivitamin that had extra efas and then also evening primrose oil. Once I started reading about the balance of omega 3, 6, &9 though I decided to buy one of those bottles where you either swallow a tablespoon of the oil or put it over your food. I put it over my food. My arms are finally about 98% smooth (just being honest..I still have 1 bump on one arm and 2 tiny ones on the other ) But I haven't been using any lotion on them because I was trying to make sure the EFAs where what was responsible.
More info about EFAs and keratosis here:

I hope this helps someone! |
What exactly are you using for the oil, is it flaxseed oil you're using?
I also read that emu oil is the best. |

Just ordered Glycolix Elite 10% Moisturizing Cleanser and Glycolix Elite 15% Body Lotion onwww.skincarerx.com, they have great low prices compared to other sites, hopefully this'll help out with my KP which is mild, but still.
FYI girls: I've read that if you bath in baking soda it'll help open up the poors for exfoliating. |

I've had these things since I was in 5th or 6th grade. I finally had the idea last year around July to shave my legs with the thought that if the follicle was where the 'infection' was happening it might be due to the aggravated hair. Within about two weeks I noticed I noticed that there were not as many new puss filled red bumps forming. I changed my diet to drop weight and they slowed even further. By October they were gone completely. I dropped about 40 pounds and kept up the healthy diet stuff; this past March I began taking omega 6-9-12 complex to help get down to my goal body fat percentage and found that my skin had a totally new look and feel to it. I still shave my legs- but my rear end is steadily clearing up as well.
So maybe it is more the diet and omega issues?? I really don't know- just thought I'd throw this out to who ever may decide to use it.

gruber - congrats on the weight loss. give us tips on how you lost the weight.
As for the arm bumps, according to numerous dermatologists and internet research, the red bumps is essentially congested dry skin. Including more fatty acids in your diet will help hydrate from the inside. I've has the bumps practically all my life. In the winter, they are not that bad (of course when its too cold to wear short sleeves.) Now they are in their full glory. You guys have inspired me to try to tackle my bumps once in for all. I'm going to try an omega supplement, plus exfoliate and use a strong glycolic acid. |

Retin-A works well on them, if you happening to already be using it on your face. |

Does anyone know where to purchase Donell's lotion in either 12.5% or 20% in the UK? TIA! |

I had these bumps for a long time in my younger years. Some people say that it's dry skin. If that is the case, exfoliating on a regular basis should help reduce the amounts of bumps on your arms. It could also be a rash or an allergic reaction to a product. Have you been using anything new lately? |
