Sadly, my father passed-away suddenly just after midnight, Saturday, June 24. He was 56, and though we don't know the cause of death yet, I will assume that he'd had a heart-attack, stroke, or anurysm. Two kids walking though Hertige Park, found him unconscious and not breathing. No matter what his colleagues from BC Ambulance or the efforts administered in the emergency room, they couldn't revive him. He was already gone.
My brothers, mother, and I are devastated, and in-shock right now. My brothers, sister in-law, and baby Stella are flying to Smithers this morning. I am going on a flight at dinner time, and Casper is also going on the flight (in her carrier kennel). I need my Casper with me for some security. My Dad really liked Casper too. Calling her his "grancat". He was "Pappy" to Stella, and "Pappy-cat" to my Casper.
You never knew my Dad, but if you had, you'd know what a wonderful, talented, brilliant, honorable, sensitive man he was. He loved us all very much, my brothers, my mother, his beautiful grandaughter Stella, and Casper:) For people who didn't know him, they really missed-out on meeting a very special, remarkable man.
Professionally, he's always been a hero: RCMP officer, volunteer fire dept. deputy chief, and now an EMT with BC Ambulance. He saved a lot of lives, and people couldn't say enough about him. He may have be a hero in their eyes, but to me, he was my Dad. MY hero, and I loved him so very much. My heart is broken, and I will forever miss my Daddy.

Caspers Mum, I'm so sorry to hear that your beloved daddy has passed away. I can feel how much you love him and you are so proud of him. He must have been a wonderful dad and an honourable man!

It sounds as though he was a very special man as well as being your Dad, Caspers Mum. I can imagine that he must have touched many lives for the better during his own lifetime.
The mere thought of losing my own Dad is excruciating, so I can only imagine what you must be feeling right now.
If I was there, I'd give you a great big hug. Take care, sweetheart. |

This is awful news Casper's Mom and I am very sad to read your post. 56 is waaaay too young to die, and the suddeness of it must be even more devistating for you and your family. My sincere condolences to all of you during this extemely tough time.
