Bad news!

If anyone knows of any other good site providing the same kind of service (that isn't extortionately expensive) where we can order stuff like Remergent to be shipped internationally, please post about it here. Crying or Very sad

We regret to inform that Shop the States is closing.

The recent change in office location and start of online membership
program came about because Shop the States hired an independent
contracting company to process and onward ship member packages. This
contracting company informed us today they will be breaking contract.

With much discussion and heavy hearts we have decided to close Shop the
States. We have enjoyed providing service to our many members and would
like to thank you for your business.

We understand our closing will inconvenience some members. We do apologize
for the inconvenience and have listed below instructions for members with
pending orders, in transit packages or parcels currently with Shop the
States.

Shop the States website has shut down with the exception of online member
pages where you can submit shipping quote requests. Access member pages
via http://www.shopthestates.com/amember/member.php

Members will be issued refunds for their Shop the States subscription
payment by June 30th.

Maybe you try to re-contact them and see if they offer a suggestion.

CK - I believe the shipping fees they wanted to charge were pretty shocking, unfortunately.

Candy - Actually, I just sent them an e-mail this morning to say how sorry I was to hear about them closing and asking if they have any plans to start up again in the future. (I do hope so.)

Mabsy - That's exactly how I feel! Let's keep an eye out to see whether we can find a suitable replacement.

What a shame for such a great service to close down.

Maybe this is the reason why internationalcheckout is still running but shopthestates is closing down? Wink

Shop The States allowed people overseas to buy goods in the US and give a US address (at Shop The States). Shop The States would then forward the mail or packages to you anywhere in the world. It was so economincal on postage. Not as good as EDS but the best alternative. I normally purchase everything from EDS except for Remergent and I have my fingers crossed that EDS will carry that line.

I got an email today from STS with a link to an alternative service. However, they charge a $100+/year membership fee (though STS had a discount link) Sad

Yes, Mabsy, I received that email as well. I am going to sit on it for the time being, living in hopes that EDS will stock Remergent. If I don't have any alternative by the time I need my next supply of Remergent then I will have to use them as I just can't live without Remergent now.

I just had a look at shop the states website, does it mean that you can still use them but will have to pay a membership fee?

I really want to order the Remergent line and a few other items, but can't figure out how economonical it will be to order from them now. Has anyone found anywhere else that ships internationally for a good price?

No, Shop The States has closed. They recommend some other sites to use but they are a lot more expensive. Please add your name to the list of members trying to convince EDS to carry the line.

I wonder if those of us who'd love EDS to stock Remergent should also e-mail them, just in case they haven't seen the list? What do you reckon, ladies?

I sent an email over the weekend. I'm not sure if they have seen the list, but It can't do any harm to keep asking them every so often, just so they don't forget Very Happy

If you scroll down to around the middle of the page, daisy, you'll see links to the recommended sites:

http://www.shopthestates.com

They really are a heck of a lot more expensive, though, sadly.

Has anyone been able to find a better place so we can have our own US address yet? I need to get a couple of things from Sonya Dakar and I called IS Clinical company, and they said that they won't be selling their products in Canada because of our government restrictions.

I hope someone can help. Confused

I've had no luck so far, I'm afraid. If ever I do (and I'm beginning to doubt that will happen), I'll be sure to post about it here.

I haven't been able to find anything that is anywhere near as good based on my shopping patterns. Everything else I've seen was too expensive.... Oh I miss STS!
