I can't choose between the two. I want something that will be better for spot treatment versus all over and have a good selection of yellow tones. Should I go for the pressed or loose? |

I haven't tried the pressed, but I love the loose.
I may be wrong, but I think I remember reading that the colours of loose and pressed look different from each other. Possibly the pressed are lighter. Maybe someone else can confirm or deny this? |

I have used both the pressed and loose JI minerals. I'm not sure about the colours but I do know that the pressed is better for combo/oily skin than the loose. I have very oily skin and the pressed is much better for me. It has a more matte finish if thats what you are looking for. HTH |

Hey Weezie
Since you use JI minerals, can you tell me does it contain Bismuth oxy?, Mica, or talc? I am in search of trying another mineral makeup for great coverage and maybe better color selection, but I know I tried Bare Est. (it was only loose powder though) and I don't like the shiny look, I almost feel like it makes me itchy too. |

Hey bergquis-
I've tried Bare Escentuals and Jane Iredale and unfortunately, both contain bismuth. I think you'll find if you reacted to BE, it will be WORSE with JI. I felt very little irritation with BE, maybe a slight itching on warm days, but with JI, it's definitely a prickly burning sensation. Much more definitive. And the really sad thing is that JI made me break out. I am SO SAD about that because JI is one of the longest wearing foundations I've ever used. *SIGH SIGH SIGH SIGH* |

I've heard JI contains dimethicone, can anyone confirm? If it's true, that could be the reason for makeupfiend's breakouts. |

thank you makeupfiend! Yes BE made me itch and it made every pore and blemish stand out like a sore thumb. I was reading some raves about JI on makeup alley, but I think I will pass after what you said. I currently use "true" and I do love it, but why are we always in search of something else. ??? |

See I currently use True as well and I am DEFINITELY still on the prowl for something else. Although True looks better than most liquid foundations I've ever used and is definitely easier on the skin, it seems like it is prone to creasing in the smile lines and can definitely fade as the day wears on. Obviously there is always the option of a touch up but I REALLY liked how well JI wore. I wish I could find something as good that wouldn't tear up my skin. Do you have any tips that you've come across in your use of True? |

I haven't tried the loose but I love the pressed! I'm not sure about colours but I can tell you that I find the JI pressed much easier and less messy to apply than other loose mineral foundations I have tried. |

Thank you ladies for the responses!
I usually apply my minerals with a concealer brush (or fingertip) patted onto any blemishes and worked into small areas such as around my nostrils and chin crease. Would the pressed work as well as loose for this? Meaning, would it work well with finger/stiff brush application? |

Ah, I see. In that case I'd go for loose. Whenever I use MM as a concealer I tend to go with the loose versions as I can work them into the little brush better IMO. |

I'm very interested in trying the JI make up products, I live in Mexico and I will be visiting some family over in California, does any body know about a store that carry the brand? I was thinking about ordering them from EDS, but I'm afraid that I won't choose the right colors. Thanks a million |

I wear both JI loose and pressed powders. I like pressed for summer because I get less shine. Loose in winter seems to keep my skin from getting to dry. |
