Hi everyone,
I would like to try doing a glycolic peel on my stretchmarks, first on the tops of my breasts and back of my calves. I have fair skin, but tan very easily.
What strength should I start with, which brand/kind should I try, and what can I expect after doing a peel? Will my skin be all oozing and scabby or normal or red?
Thanks!!!! |

I've heard good things about PC's AHA products, maybe you could give it a try. |

I'm currently trying to do just that with my chest area. With similiar skin types it appears from your description.
I am using a 12% glycolic wash (2x per day), 5% glycolic gel mask(1x every 3rd day), 5% glycolic toner (2x per day), Amino Genesis Tripeptinon (1x PM), SuperCop 2X Remodeling Cream (1x PM) & switch off between Vit C 20% & Retinol .30% Molecular Serum
(1x AM) & once a week do Epidermx.
The 1st week I saw no changes good or bad. Towards the end of week 2 I got some stinging & redness when applying the glycolics but it would fade & feel fine in less than a minute. Now approaching the end of my 3rd week. I think I am now experiancing the 'CP uglies' in that my skin is a bit redder than normal (it's always a bit red from too many years of sun exposure) and alot of bumps. Feel & look like pimples, but aren't. Saturday will be my scheduled Epidermx night & I expect that the bumps will be gone, or at least the 1's I have now. This routine is similar to what I did for my face and I had fabulous results.
My only recommendation as far as trying similar to my routine is go easy. I have pretty tolerant skin & am not prone to sensitivities. |

oh my lord! that hurt my brain
Is the glycolic gel mask consider a "peel"? |

LOL - sounds alot worse than it really is...here is the product description...
This clear gel is gentle enough to use everyday as part of your skin care regime. Glycolic Gel Mask contains alpha hydroxy acid (Glycolic at 5%), Botanical Complexs, Nutrients, and anti-inflammatory agents to exfoliate, remove excess oil and damaged skin, promoting new skin cell production and collagen formation, leaving a healthy, youthful glow. Formulated for normal to oily skin, daily use of Glycolic Gel Mask leaves the skin feeling supple and toned.
Directions: After cleansing with Glycolic Facial Wash, apply to face, neck, and chest area avoiding eye lids and lip area. Leave on from 30 minutes to overnight. Rinse clean with water and pat dry. Follow with Glycolic Daily Toner and AHA Skin Rejuvenating Lotion For Face & Body
Glycolic Acid is one of the Alpha Hydroxy acids (fruit acids). Fruit acids are nontoxic naturally occurring substances, and are found in a variety of fruits, such as grapes, apples and sugar cane. Use of Glycolic products will improve oily and acne prone skin and decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
No - I don't believe so. But I am not the 'peel' expert here. I do use a 30% and sometimes 40% peel. Though in my opinion the name peel isn't a proper description. In my wee little mind I expect to see something coming off. Which of course doesn't happen. {we won't go into me pouring over the directions over & over again trying to figure out what I did wrong because I didn't 'peel' } & I don't think 5% is strong enough to be considered a peel.
Oh, I did try to do my 30% peel on my chest ....yea...we won't be doing that again ... |

The other day I tried the JB GA peel on my stretch marks on my boobs. I thought it worked pretty well actually!
Thanks for your help |
