Hi everyone, I recently developed some scalp acne around my forhead area. Basically I have been told by my derm to use Selsun 2.5% and before that Nizoral. Neither works, any ideas?

Try mixing in pure tea tree oil with your regular shampoo. Also you might try switching to a less harsh shampoo that doesn't contain SLS, it can be irritating to your scalp, which would invite in bacteria that could be causing the inflammation you are experiencing, and/or mix the TTO with that. Try not to pick at the spots you have, as it might cause spreading. HTH |

Hmm. Well since your hair is short, maybe you could spot treat the bumps with the same thing you use for your face? Also-I don't know if you take any supplements, but zinc seems to help reduce inflammation for me as well. Be sure to post if you do find a solution, I know someone else that gets these and would probably like options. Good luck! |

Zinc supplements are a good idea, also B Complex and Vitamin A are good fo any form of acne.
If you find that Tea Tree oil is too string for your skin then try Witch Hazel or Lavender Essential oil. |
