In your opinion, or knowledge, is the non stinging, blue mouth turning Crest mouth wash in the same ball park of effectiveness as Listerine?

Thank you in advance for your comments. Smile

Have never tried Crest but Listerine is the business, it practically takes your mouth off!! Laughing
When I was in the States we got Publix's own brand of Listerine which was identical, even said so on the back.
I think it was about $2 for a huge bottle, well worth it!!

Listerine has a new flavor out--Vanilla Mint. It doesn't have that awful mediciny taste and after-taste the regular Listerine has, but it still has the same great effectiveness. I highly recommend it!
[I haven't tried the Crest, so I can't compare.]

I have always used listerine but I recently got the crest stuff at costco and I love it. I can leave it in a lot longer so I think it actually works better than the listerine, and no pain!

I'm not really a fan of the Crest stuff. It seemed like after I used it, I had all these blue particles left over in my mouth which I then had to rinse out. Pain. I like the vanilla mint listerine, though. Actually, they already have a store brand of the flavor, so I got a big jug of that for under $2.

Hi there!

I would recommend a non alcoholic mouthwash. The alcohol and sugar disrupts the bacterial balance in the mouth and creates more germs. Here's a study:

My dentist reccomends getting one with Xylitol in it.

I second that. Listerine is strong stuff. I tried it once and never went back. I usually use Scope Smooth Mint (it speeds up the healing of canker sores).

I got some free mouthwash from Britesmile as part of a kit when I got my teeth cleaned there. I think it was non-alcoholic.

I am sure it's all very medically good, but I just couldn't use it. It didn't *feel* fresh.

Saying that, I don't have a massive mouthwash thing. I am phobic about cleaning my teeth, 3- 4 times most days and I like doing them really thoroughly (I am a bit OCD I think Laughing). But in the morning, after brushing my teeth and my tongue (with my special tongue cleaner, it's cool!!) I just rinse my toothbrush then douse it in mouthwash and then brush again. Lovely Smile
