I'm really interested in starting to use the Dr. H makeup line. Can those who are using this or have used this before, let me know which products they were impressed with?

I really like their foundation. It has a nice consistency and it moisturizing. however, there are only 3 colors so finding a match is iffy. It is also not good if you need heavy duty coverage. Their mascara is nice and non-irritating, but it has a subtle effect. Their eyeshadows are very subtle too. My absolute fave is their lipsticks! Nice colors and incredibly moisturizing.

I love the bronzing powder. It's very subtle and looks very natural.
I have the eye-liner in expresso bean, and it's the first liner I've used in ages that hasn't irritated my eyes after a few hours. Love it!
I have the eye -shadow duo in smokey grey brown and shimmering ivory and it's great too, although the ivory is a little too shimmery for me. The grey-brown is almost black, and very striking, and it stays put for ages even without primer.
The rouge powder is very pigmented, so you have to be careful applying it, but once I got the hang of it, it looked really natural, and it blends beautifully.
The mascara is really nice too, but I find it's more for day-wear as it's a very subtle look. You may want something more dramatic for evening wear, unless your really into the super au-naturelle look! Laughing It has great staying power though and lasts all day!
I also bought the Translucent bronze concentrate but have not actually tried it yet as I'm kind of addicted to the bronzing powder right now! Laughing Laughing HTH's

I also use the foundation and its gives a nice light/med finish if you need coverage this is not for you. I have normal skin a slight t zone and I just powder in that area and I am set for the day. i also mix the bronzer with it to give a nice glow.

I'm definitely a fan of their mascara - the blue one is lovely.

I also like the translucent powder for cutting down on shine. It's very light in texture and easy to apply.

I've used just about everything except the foundation. I love the mascara and eye liner. Also, I'm very fond of the eye shadow. My only complaint with it had been that it was available only as a two-color set; however, I see now that singles are being offered as well. I like the lip sticks, but find them a little stiff. I've started using instead the lip liner under the lip balm and am thrilled with the natural, glossy effec that produces. I also use, the cover stick and pressed powder and like them as well.

The only thing I was completely happy with was the liquid lip liner. I'm not sure that it's still available; I bought it as a temporary offering in the Novum line. My only real complaint with it was that I never quite got the hang of how to use it.

I'm surprised to hear you say that - I found their lipsticks VERY creamy, especially compared to other natural brands. Their novum lipsticks are more 'stiff' so maybe that's what you are referring to.

I LOVE their liquid eyeliner! It has such wonderful staying power...but you are right, it is very difficult to use. If you aren't careful you get a crazy crooked line. I'm pretty sure it's still available, I hope they make it part of their permanent line! And those new eyeshadow singles look so beautiful....

I absolutely love Dr H cosmetics and can't say enough about them. I use their foundation, cover stick, loose powder, bronzer, mascara, eyeliner, Novum lipstick and just recently purchased the new concealer which they came out with, which is also great. They offer great coverage while benefiting the skin as well and they use fantastic ingredients. My face never feels dirty or caked when wearing their makeup and it always washes clean away. I was hooked from day one and always recommend DR H products to all my friends.

Chimera, I probably should have added a qualifier to my observation about the lipsticks being stiff. You're right that compared with other lipsticks, they're quite creamy and moisturizing. I think I'm just happier with something a bit more sheer. Because I love the colors, my workaround has been to apply them over a base of lip balm. That works beautifully, especially in the winter when my lips are prone to dry out.

I so wish that I could get the hang of the liquid eyeliner. The few times that I've managed to get a clean line that was consistent on both eyes, I loved how it looked and lasted through the day.

Chiming in on the general raves for Dr. H makeup.

I their mascara and will never use anything else! I have it in blue, brown and black but I tend to use the blue more than any other. It's not an obnoxious blue at all - it looks black until the light hits your eyes a certain way. And if you put on enough layers you can get a truly dramatic effect.

Eyeshadow duos are lovely, and glide across your eyelids just like the silk within. They blend gently. Only negative with these is that they do wear off a bit by the end of day but somehow it still looks good. If anything, my eyes look more smokey and subtle in the pm than they did in the am.

Translucent Compact powder is another precious item in my makeup bag. I pat this over Everyday Minerals foundation to keep the shinies at bay.

All of Dr. H product smell lovely but not overpowering and not enough to conflict with my signature fragrance. I feel like I'm walking in a cloud of rose dust! Very Happy

I have been interested in trying Dr Hauschka's foundation but with only 3 colour choices I am unsure whether to purchase fair or medium. I don't have porcelain skin but still consider my skin tone to be fair. Is the fair tone more suited to porcelain?

I have fair skin and find the Dr Hauschka foundation to be perfect for it. I also use the same shade in the summer when I'm a bit more tanned with a bit more of their bronzing powder to keep things balanced, and find it looks great at all times. It blends really well with your natural skin tones so as long as your skin is in the fair category whether it is warm, neutral or cool, you should be fine. I would suggest going to your local health food store that carries the line first and doing a test with the sample just to make sure.

Thanks Wildflower, I will try and find a stockist here in Aust with a "tester" for the range. From your description "fair" sounds like it would suit me. Smile

I have used the pressed powder. It can look quite powdery on the skin and enhance the look of any dryness on your skin. I would use a brush to apply it rather than the powder puff supplied. BTW, considering the price of the pressed powder, the powder puff is of very cheap quality. They can definitely improve on that.
