It seems to be a very good source of EFA's especially because it comes in a balanced form - Omega 3-6-9. Some EFA's - like Evening Primrose Oil - just contain Omega 6. The balanced form is better! |

Thank you, leeleedeedee! I think I may try this instead of Dremu as there's really a huge price difference. For 1oz Dremu Oil I can get 2oz of oil plus 1 bottle of capsules including shipping cost (I hate this part, but it's not that bad this time) |

Yes, CK, I understand. Dremu is very pricey. However, for myself, I order from Canada. If I order a cheaper Emu Oil from the States I have to pay duty and customs and taxes so, in the end it comes to the same thing as buying the expensive Dremu. I think it's important to be a smart consumer and pay as little as possible for good products. I think the products you are ordering are of good quality.
Let us know how you like both Emu products. |

Hi Joziegrozy
If you want something that 'sinks in fast' you have to be careful about which kind of emu you get.
The less processed ones, such as skinbio's and (I'm not sure about the process used on the link you mentioned) can be a bit slow, which is why people use them by night or they cut with HA to help absorption.
It's the newer ones the 'ultra emu' from DY or the Dremu (both are triple processed) that seem so much easier to absorb and so more cosmetically appealing for day wear.
I understand that this process actually enhances the anti-inflammatory quality of the oil by as much as 40% if you read the JB Processor's website. Someone asked above. |

Agreed with leeleedeedee, I can't do without my emu oil.
First tried it when I had some burns from laser hair removal on the bikini line (OUCH!). They were pretty bad burns but healed without leaving any scar. Now whether that was the emu oil or just my good luck I will never know (I have pretty good skin overall that doesn't usually scar badly).
Now I'm using emu oil on my face, scalp/hair, arms, and pretty well everywhere.
Having said that, I suspect the claims made on some websites may be stretching the truth a little, eg, that emu oil will restore the colour of grey hair. Oh how I wish! |

Hi,leeleedeedee
Your review sounds wonderful. When do you apply oil? before/after toner, serum, cream, moisturizer? |

I purchase mine online from Longview Farms in PA, (US), which sells triple refined emu oil at $9.95 for .335 ounce. Longview Farms refined emu oil is also Molecularly Distilled, which is an additional process that screens and removes potentially harmful levels of contaminants (i.e. mercury, heavy metals, PCB's, dioxins, and other contaminants). I also purchase the refined emu oil, (that has been refined and molecularly distilled, but with the extra fatty acids) at $21.95 for 4 ounces. I've been purchasing these products from Longview Farms for over two years.

The Triple Refined emu oil they call "Liquid Gold" is a clear, due to an extra refining process that is said to eliminate the heavier fatty acids. The claim of any triple refined emu oil is that it penetrates faster/deeper into the skin.
The "Pure Emu Oil" is said to be refined and sanitized, but does not go through additional refinement processes, which leaves more of the fatty acids in the serum. This oil is somewhat cloudy.
Longview Farms state that both formulas are "molecularly distilled" which they claim eliminates additional contaminants. The website states that both triple refined and the pure emu oils are sterilized and deodorized, as well.
I use both of these types of oils, but have no standardized routine. The Triple Refined (liquid gold) comes with a roll-on top that I like because of convenience....throw it in my purse and apply a dot easily to my eye area during the day when they need a little boost. I tend to use that more when I'm away from home. I use the pure emu oil as a body moisturizer, and on my face. I also add a drop or two to my shampoo and conditioner, my regular body and facial moisturizers etc. I use the pure emu oil on my eye lashes at night. If I'm out of the "triple refined, clear" oil, I don't hesitate to use the other as a substitute. As I've mentioned, this pure emu oil, with the fatty acids, is slightly opaque, but does not bother me as others have. The texture and consistency of both of these oil is thin and fine, which I prefer over the dremu consistency.
I love emu oil, but I also love squalane. Both of these have similar consistencies, but I think the emu oil does absorb faster than squalane oil and the squalane appears to be more emollient on my skin. When I mix a couple of drops of squalane with a facial moisturizer, a slight shine remains once absorbed, and emu oil does leave a trace of shine.
...more than my 2 cents...sorry for the long post! Better get back to work....I have a deliverable to wrap up before the end of the day. |

Thank you JuJu. Since I'm on vacation right now and being rather slothful (you know just staying in the house and doing nothing much) I'm not wearing any make-up so I just use the Dremu Oil. I apply the Emu Oil a couple of times throughout the day. Once a day would not be moisturizing enough for my skin. It does penetrate very fast and it is highly moisturizing, but by the afternoon I feel like I could use a couple of more drops on my face. I do have extremely dry skin. I hardly ever use tone, but if I did or when I do the Emu Oil would go on after the toner.
I'll be going out soon (one does have to leave the house eventually) and I plan on applying Emu Oil first, a light moisturizer afterward and foundation over that. |

Thank you leeleedeedee, I'll definitedly try one. Have a great vacation!
Debra, this site looks great! I like the idea of adding a distilled process. Thank you for the details. |

I'd love to hear what you will say about its texture if you have tried it. Indeed I'm sort of hoping to hear it's as easily absorbed as triple refined oil before I place an order. |

Hi CK, sorry but it's me again.
Just wanted to let you know that since I wrote this review I've been researching "triple refined" Emu Oil. I'll provide a link below that may be interesting to read.
www.emuszine.com/Health%20Articles/personal_care_option.htm
Posters have been kind to provide other sources of Emu Oil. However, in careful reading I see that not all of these products are triple refined. This doesn't mean they aren't good. I've never tried them and can't express an opinion. The point I'm making is that I love the "triple refined" Emu Oil and it's benefits. I used to think that "triple refined" was just a marketing strategy.
It's all a matter of personal choice and budget. I think they all have benefits.
Just thought you may find the article interesting. |

Thanks leeleedeedee, I appreciate your response!
It's indeed the fact that Emu Spirit doesn't state their refining process that I hesitate in ordering. And I feel insecure in trying without hearing people's experience with it. |

oh my god this stuff is fantastic!
I have reactive skin with rosacea, and I have been going through a breakout/irritation from I think decleor oil samples I have tried. I have had all these little underground bumps all over my cheeks and along my jaw - some are whiteheads, but most are just bumpy
well, not anymore. I used my new dremu oil last nite, and woke up this morning to smooth, happy skin.
I don't think I will use this during the day - I tend to be oily and it is really hot where I live, but it will definitely be part of my night time routine.
I have resisted using emu oil for the "yuck"
factor, but I think I am over that now - can't argue with results |

Elizasue? Which company's emu oil are you using please? I tried Dremu first, then I was directed to try LBProcessors.com from this wonderful site and was told that Dremu purchases its emu oil from the LB company and that's where I've been purchasing my emu oil, from and paying considerably less for it. I'd like to try the company you're using, if you don't mind. Thanks! |

I only used this product for a month, years ago, it was givin too me by a dear freind before I had eye surgery. I was told to put it on the incisions (after stitches out) and wow did my incisions heal very fast and although I can't claim "gone", you'd be very hard pressed to see them. I was clueless to use on my face as well !!! But thought I'd let all know its great for scars (at least new ones, never dawned on me to try it on older ones )!!!! I was also told, as Leelee stated, people drink this as a daily tonic.
hope that helps,
Melissa |

Hi lefemme - I used dremu - the brand that EDS carries. I know its more expensive, but it was the easiest way for me to try it out |

Emu oil is a good emollient but theres lots of ingredients that are good emollients. Its not enough to make me run out to buy it. I think emu oil claims is driven by cosmetic companies and not from any real research that its essential for skin. This is just my opinion. |

I love the dremu oil too. I had a hard time finding it on sale though. Yesterday, I got the magazine and they have it for a lot less than eds at amerimarkstore
This is where I get it now.
They also have the eye cream airbrush that I guess was voted number one on oprahs ivillage. |
