I am having a hard time with the MMU Compact, I just can't seem to get the coverage I need.
I have tried different brushes thinking that might be it, but no luck. I also think I may have gotten a shade just a tad bit too fair.
So, I was wondering if anyone has tried the true protective illuminating concealer?
Also does anyone use all the reccomended tools for application that the true website sells?
TIA. |

Hi jilllpa,
I use the True pressed foundation powder and also their concealer. Both work very well for me. Strangely, I had difficulty getting the right coverage with the True loose powder, but the pressed is perfect.
I don't use the True tools. Mostly I use my Jane Iredale handi-brush. Sometimes I use the other JI powder brush - can't think what it's called right now. I just swirl the handi-brush around the compact a couple of times, knock off the excess, and buff it around my face. That gives the right amount of overall coverage for me.
I use the True concealer under my eyes, but for spots elsewhere on my face I just dab on some True powder straight from the compact with my finger. I press that in, then buff it all together with the handi brush.
Hope that helps. It is hard to get the coverage right if you don't have the right shade, though. |

A flat kabuki-style brush, smaller sized, works best for me with the True pressed foundation. I picked up mine from Target and it works better than the EM kabuki and some of the others I've tried, plus it doesn't shed or irritate. I use the JI flocked sponge for hard to reach in areas and the nose. I use Amazing concealer around the eyes and don't use the MMU up that far. Too dark a color and it shows all pores, too light a color and it makes you look washed out. Do you have a sample of something darker you could try to mix in? |

Hello
I am a "TRUE" user of all products. I would say the compact powder if I recall, did take some getting use to. But I found I really like it because I can control the amount that I apply to my face. I did invest in the $50 brush, it is so soft and makes the powder go on flawless. What I do, is one sweep around my face with the powder. Then I spray with the mist, let it dry and go around again if I want more coverage. I think the trick is not to try to apply your entire amount of coverage all at once, you have to do it in steps. |

Berquis,
I really would like to try the True concealer. Since I was off a bit on the MMU shade choice, I was wondering if you could tell me which true concealer shade you use for your skin type.
I am also going to try all of the great tips from everyone who responded.
Thank's |

Hi jilllpa
Since the concealer comes in three shades. I just the "fair" one. I find that between the three different colors offered, I mix and come up with the correct color. I did have a hard time choosing because none of them actually matched my skin. So I just dab a cotton swab in the lightest color, blend, then dab a small concealer brush in the next darker color and blend. I use the medium three compact, but also have the fair #2 that I use on my cheeks for a darker more natural look than the blush. The blush is the only product I am not using from True, but I don't use blush. (not because I don't like it)...hope that helps |
