I tried Melederm when it was "Whiter Skin" for my hormone induced melasma (both cheeks). Sad to say, it did nothing - though it didn't irritate or anything bad. Certainly didn't make things worse.

For me, the only product (and I sound like a broken record) that lightened my melasma is Cosmelan2. I know it is harsh for some, but I have super sensitive skin and although it does get red easily, it clearly faded my "spots" quite a bit. Not all the way gone...but very, very helpful.

P.S. So sorry to hear about your rotten experience with HQ.

Mariav, how long ago did you use Cosmelan2? I was pondering trying it for quite awhile and wondered if the spots would come back after awhile. Do you have a maintenance routine with it?

Nymue -

I first tried C2 last year after hearing about it on the skincarerx board. It took me nearly a year to finish one jar - I had to throw what was left away, b/c it looked kind of "sketchy" (color was off, it also got hard.) But I was so pleased with my results, I was of the "who cares?" nature. Things stayed great until May/June this year when I started to get a little darker as summer returned. Not much, but enough that I bought a second jar which I used for eight days in a row and relightened to where I was the first time. Now I just use it once or twice a week with PSF's O2 Rescue to help with any irritation. It never really irritated me the way it does for some, and I have very fair sensitive skin. I don't know why C2 worked when I tried so many other products that did nothing. There's really nothing all that remarkable in the ingredients. I think if I have to use it in the long run and a jar lasts me a year, then I can live with that (as long as my face doesn't fall off! Shock ) until they come up with a product that will eliminate melasma forever!

Maria Very Happy

I've used the old version and now the new one (Melederm). I didnt see significant results as fast as they claim, however I did begin to see improvement after about 1 month. My skin did look "brighter" after just a few applications. The spots on my face began to fade and my overall skin tone did get lighter after a few months into it. I am still using it occasionaly and have not seen any redarkening.

Hi Jenny. I just started using Melederm 9-10 days ago. I wanted to know what sunscreen do you recommend to use on top after applying the cream? I have noticed already that the acne spots on my chin and the dark "mustache" above my lip are getting lighter. Its only been 10 days so I am VERY happy so far! Right now I am using COTZ SPF 58 which blocks EVERYTHING. However, I really hate putting it on since it makes my skin look ashy and grey (I am medium dark skinned). If anyone has a recommendation to a sunblock that is both light and strong, please advise me! THANKS
