Hi,

I have been searching for products to tame my coarse, dry, frizzy, split-ends after my perm 6 months ago. Many of you here have had good experiences with JM products so I need your advice on what to get because they are pricey.
The upper part of my hair is soft (I have fine hair) but the bottom half and the ends are a mess and always gets tangled. I don't want to weigh my curls down either. I wash my hair daily as even before my perm I've had oily roots and dry ends but generally I have had good hair all my life until now.

Here is what I have in mind:
1. Evening Primrose shampoo
2. Honey and Hibiscus Reconstructor (as a weekly treatment because it's too expensive for daily use)
3. I need a daily use conditioner, should I opt for the lavendar and avocado intensive or the citrus and neroli detangler?
4. I was thinking of getting the dry nourishment defrizzer to add in to my daily conditioner to get an extra boost - is it necessary?
5. Hair pomade - not sure if I need it, I use ISO bouncy creme on my ends to define and hold my curls - it works wonders. I'm not sure if hair pomade is a styling or conditioning product, and I'm not sure how to use it either because I don't comb my wet hair - you're not supposed to after a perm, it takes out the curls.
6. Herbal Cider hair rinse and clarifier - do I need this? I am planning to dye my hair in the near future as I dye it about once every 6-8 months.

TIA

I've just bought the Bourbon Vanilla & Tangerine Texturiser to give John Masters products a try. (Okay, I'll admit that the only reason I chose this one rather than the rest of the range was the name! Embarassed )

Haven't used it yet, and probably won't for a week as I'm currently also trying other stuff at the moment, but will let you know what it does for my own dry, coarse, frizzy curly hair once I get the chance.

Must say that I immediately thought of rosebud when I opened the jar. I know she loves natural products that smell gorgeous - and this smells UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Honestly, I think if it does nowt for my hair, I'll probably use it to rub on my wrists as a perfume balm-type thing. I think it's probably the nicest scented hair product I've ever come across in my life.

Hi Sormuimui,

The perfect shampoo for you would be the Zinc & Sage shampoo with conditioner. It is made for anyone with oily roots and dry ends. I use this one myself and like it very much.

A good daily conditioner would be one of the detanglers. I use the Citrus & Neroli. The beauty of the detangler is that you can just apply it to the ends of your hair if thats just where you want some conditioning. It smells divine and you can leave it on during the day for a deeper acting conditioner. It gives the hair a mega watt shine!!

The Herbal Cider Clarifier is great if you color your hair, because when you use it right after coloring it seals in and locks in the color. I also use this product and like it very much.

I also have the Evening Primrose Shampoo and it's great. It is not overly moisturizing.

I have not used the dry nourishment defrizzer but it does sound good and perhaps what you may need.

I have never used the hair pommade so can't comment on that one.

The Honey and Hibiscus Reconstructor is super. I use it after coloring my hair as it is one of the best deep conditioning treatments I have ever used. But the price.....

Hope this helps you.

manslayerliz - Okay, here goes. Just had a sniff of the pot. *swoon*

Imagine fresh, sweet tangerines that have been peeled and had hot sugar syrup poured all over them. That's kind of how it smells to me. No nasty synthetic whiffs, just lovely, natural scent.

Just remember that I haven't tried it yet - it might not work! Shock

But, like I said, you could always buy a pot of it just to sniff the delicious scent. Laughing

Ok, I just started using the JM products this week, so it is too early to wreally review, but I am posting because I know lots of people have been asking questions about the line, and there don't seem to be that many people with experience using it.

I have been using the Honey and Hibiscus hair reconstructing shampoo and conditioner, and the dry hair nourishment & defrizzer droplets, and the Tangerine Texturizer. Oh wow, does my hair smell gorgeous (I keep sniffing it, but not in public of course). I am not actually sure that I like the line yet, but I am reluctant to think of losing the scent. Strangely, my hair actually feels a bit dryer than usual at the moment, but that could be because I washed it twice over 3 days, which is way more than normal for me - so, no conclusions on that yet.

The hair texturizer definitely does not weigh down my curly hair. It has been a little volume crazy around here for the past few days, and I am trying to adjust to weigh down my curls a bit more. Not bad in terms of curl definition and lack of frizz, but too much volume for my taste - my hair has a tendency to totally overpower my face if I let it go too crazy. I think I might try the sweet orange styling gel instead.

Anyhow, this is not my review, and I wouldn't normally post so early, but there have been so many questions floating around that I thought people might be interested.
