I know many of you use two different cleansers, one in the morning and one in the evening.
What prompts you to use one in the morning, versus in the evening? Why don't you use one cleanser and just wash twice a day?
I'm curious if I should pick up another cleanser...if it might be more beneficial (I'm combo/very oily/prone to breakouts).
Currently I've been using yonka gel nettoyant (as if y'all don't know, considering how much I've raved about it). Honestly, I don't usually wash my face all that often in the morning...I shower every morning. Sometimes I wash with my Fresh cleansing balm with lemon oil while still in the shower (mainly just to use it up and be done with it).
Should I also be cleansing in the morning, even though I take a shower?
TIA! |

I use md forte's glycare cleanser in the morning. I don't use it in the evening because it doesn't take off my makeup very well and I really don't want to be rubbing off eyemake up with glycolic cleanser. LOL In the evening, I use cellcosmet's cleansing gel because it does a fabulous job of easily removing makeup and not stripping my face.
I don't think that it is a requirement to use different cleansers. I think many people like a certain cleanser, but it doesn't remove makeup so well. So they use that one in the morning and one that is more efficiant at removing makeup in the evening.

My problem is that I bought too many cleansers so I need to mix them up!
Right now I'm using JB Green Apple Cleanser in the AM and then at night the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. I like both, but I could be swayed by something else (like I was interested in one of the Yonka cleansers which I might try next time). |

I always use the same cleanser night and morning and would never think of missing a face wash. I use and love Cellcosmet Gel Cleanser followed by Cellcosmet Activator. The only exception is when I am travelling on short trips then I use Kosmea Clarifying Wash. |

unless you have extremely oily skin a lot of professionals advise against using any cleanser in the mornings (just water).
Me? Well, I have creams etc from the night before and I like to start with a fresh slate before applying more, BUT - is it likely my skin is as dirty as the previous night? highly unlikely - it has no make-up, no pollution or city grime, no build up of sweat and facial oils from moving around.
Therefore I choose a light, gentle cleanser, to use under the shower. I also know that my evening ones can be used for this purpose, but it is nice to have a couple to choose from (I will steal hubby's sometimes too. )
In the past I would use a cleansing milk in the morning and then the gel/foaming version of the cleanser at night.. or if I was into soaps (well, cleansing bars) I would go for a gentle oatmeal in the morning and then something sturdier for evenings when my skin needed extra cleansing. |

Hi!
I had been using a cream cleanser both in the morning and at night, but I just recently added another cleanser (Ice Elements Radiance Cleanser) to use 3 times a week, as it is a gentle slow release glycolic, and performs differently than my regular cleanser does.
Take care. |

I always use a seperate cleanser for AM & PM, I generally prefer foaming/rinse-off cleansers first thing in the morning as I find my skin is a bit oily in the morning. But at night I use a milk/cream cleanser instead to add a bit of moisture to my skin, as I don't like using heavy night creams at all. I quite like the Jurlique foaming cleaner/s as I find they don't dry my skin as much & I use Dr H cleansing cream/milk at night.

I cleanse morning and evening because I use product an night and wouldn't feel clean to start the day if I didn't cleanse. In the morning, I typically use a gentle cleanser as there is not much to wash off, and in the evening, I use something stronger to take off makeup, sunscreen, etc. I vary the cleansers that I use because I have so many to use up. I am quite fickle when it comes to skin care, and I find it difficult to stick to any product for very long

I use OCM ... so I use the same cleanser in the AM and PM ... the difference is that in the PM I cleanse slightly differently. I take more time with massaging the cleansing oil to ensure that I get every trace of makeup and grime off of my face ... and loosen any pesky little blackheads that might have reared their ugly heads during the day.
In the morning, I just do a gentle massage ... to get the blood circulating nicely ... and rinse off.
I've been doing this since late last August ... so almost a year now ... and I've never been happier with my skin.

hi paris--i use a different cleanser in the morning and evenings cause i am so lazy i just keep one in the shower and one on the sink so i can just wash easily for me, the two cleanser i have are pretty interchangeable, i use shiseido lucent bright cleansing foam in the morning and the one i use at night (i am a night shower person) is shiseido the skincare cleansing foam. for evening, i use a cleansing foam prior to the regular cleanser to break up my eye makeup and sunscreen since my regular cleanser won't remove those.
and i definitely clean in the morning cause i have an oily tzone and i want to remove the night's moisturizer so my day products can sink in better. hope that helps. |

I use a much light cleanser in the mornings and my gel at night. I also use my Precleanse before my gel because at night I'd be taking off a day's worth of makeup which takes a whole lot more cleaning than in the AM. If I use my gel in the AM it tends to make my cheeks slightly tighter than I'd like them to be - and this has happened with MANY cleansers, gel or foaming ones so now I stick to a light mousse cleanser + Jurlique's face wash cream. If I don't have makeup on I use the mousse cleanser at night as well. |

I have a few cleansers that I alternate (in no particular fashion). I like to use Dermalogica Microfoliant or MD Formulations Glycolic Cleanser in the AM. Something that lightly exfoliates. It seems to make my make-up go on smoother and gives my skin a nice healthy glow.
In the PM I alternate between a couple:
- Serious Skin care's Olive Oil Emulsifying Cleanser (my absolute FAVORITE cleanser)
- Caudalie Foaming Cleanser
- Orlane B21 Vitalizing cleanser

This really helps...I have a cleansing milk that I've since put under the sink as I started with my cleansing gel...but I think I will throw this in the shower and use in the mornings.
GREAT INFO!!!
Thanks you!!!

I use Serious Skin Care Daily Ritual Cleanser in morning and evening. If I was wearing mascara then I'd use Aloette Essential Cleansing Oil to cleanse my face. If I was going to do the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel then I'd cleanse my face with the JB Cleansing Gel first. It really depends on your needs. |

yeah I agree...depends on the need. I use JM glycolic cleanser on most mornings....In the evening either a cream cleanser followed by a foaming one(finishing up my stock one by one)...or only the foaming one in shower depending on what did I put on during the day. |

At night I frequently use the Burt's Bees Orange Essence Cleanser... I don't use it in the a.m. for 2 reasons:
1) I am using a cleanser w/ salicylic acid in the a.m. to help prevent breakouts
2) The massaging, steaming, cleansing that I do w/ the orange cleanser (similar to OCM) takes too long in the a.m., and I don't want to get any of it in my hair.
That said, I don't think I'll ever be the kind of person to only use one product... even if I find something I love, I always wonder if there's something else I will love more! |

I am fairly lazy in the morning and it takes all my will power to take the time to use my exfoliating gloves!! I love soap and normally use a mild one for my face, at the moment it is an Olive soap or goat's Milk (I like a selection ).
In the evening I love using homemade Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream which I like masaging slowly in and deeply inhaling the essential oils I have added, a lovely relaxing end to the day |

Thanks for the link, Yen. I meant is it a foaming type, thick cream, or a thick ointment type (that is the balm cleansers) |

I usually use a cream cleanser in the morning (Kosmea or this other Organic brand with rosehip oil in it), then at night to take of my sun screen I use JB Apple Cleanser (which I really like). Sometimes I use DrH CC as well.
I don't think you should cleanse if you don't feel that your skin needs it. Over cleansing can make things much worse. |
