Hello,
I posted this on my own site, and thought you guys should be aware about my experience with this product.

"I think my Dr. H sunscreen (spf 20) is actually increasing my melasma! I noticed my spots get darker if I wear the sunscreen and go out into the sun for even a short while, like 15 minutes (so still within the "allowed" time for this low SPF). The next day my patches are of a more intense yellow color.
So I looked at the ingredients list closer and guess what, it very well MAY cause melasma, because among other things it contains:
Fragrance (from natural essential oils) - since it doesn't state from which oils, it could be any phototoxic oil as far I know;
Linalool, Geraniol, Citral, Limonene, Citronellol - ALL are constituents of a lemon oil, known phototoxic agent.
And once again I'm on a hunt for a natural physical sunscreen with no harmful (for me) additives.
Phototoxic (definition)
May cause a skin reaction such as burning, irritation, or pigment change upon exposure to ultra-violet light (sunlight, tanning lights)." |

I just got melasma about 3 months ago. I thought my DHC white sunscreen made mine worse. Lately I have been using LRP Dermo pediatrics sunscreen SPF 50+, and it seems to be fading some. I hear such conflicting things on whether chemical (European) sunscreens are better or if physical sunscreens are better. I also have the skincuentical SPF30 which seems to work well and its physical. I also put BE mineral makeup on top so I guess I have physical on top anyway. |

Hi Jordan
Do you mean you put your MMU over your LRP SS? If that's the case I'm sorry to say that minerals degrade that kind of SS so you're actually lowering your protection.
