| I'm not exactly sure how to ask this. I've been reading a book about hormones and the things doctor's either don't know or won't tell you. I've always responded pretty negatively to birth control and also suspected that all of the problems my mother has developed over the years are in large part the result of her having a hysterectomy long ago and never having any hormone replacement therapy to keep her balanced. I especially find her fibromyalgia and diabetes to be suspect in this assumption. So I was wondering.....has anyone had a hysterectomy, with no hormones to replace the ones lost, and also developed chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia? Is this just coincidence? If not, I may be able to help her! Anyone have any similar experiences or thoughts? Thanks in advance! |

Hi pnw - I had a H about 20 years ago and had no replacement therapy whatsoever. I just started going through menopause last summer, and have suffered no ill effects from the H, and menopause hasn't been too bad either. So I'm not so sure if there is any relationship between auto-immune diseases and H's, at least there wasn't with me. HTH's.  |

| both my mom and aunt had them with no bad side effects. my aunt had some problems before her H, but it went away when she had all her fillings changed to porcelain. |
