I have read that if you apply moisturizer on first and then sunblock, it will be degraded?
Is this true? |

I always wait about 20 minutes after applying serums and creams etc before applying sunscreen. I think if you let the moisturizer dry/set it should be ok. If your moisturizer has anti-oxidants/vitamin C etc, I believe it should increase your UV protection. Although if your moisturizer has minerals in it, it will degrade chemical sunscreens. |

i think Lucinda's advice is good but i usually won't wait 20 minutes to apply sunscreen after moisturizer, so i try the use a really high spf 50, and if it gets diluted a bit i am still getting very high protection. |

This is what I've heard-I don't remeber where but correct me if this is wrong...chemical sunscreens should be applied to clean skin (so the chemicals can adhere to the skin)..well after a c serum I suppose. Physical blocks can be applied over anything. |

I do serums on bare skin then sunscreen then moisturizer or make-up. I have a feeling maybe sunscreen would be better put on last but can't imagine putting it on over make-up so I put it under my make-up instead....Hopefully, still getting some good protection. |

I just wish I had the time in the morning to wait for 20 minutes before applying the Sunscreen - But thats the way to do it. I do this on the weekends. |

SPF ratings are determined in labs, using UVB exposure on clean skin. Any variation from that situation is going to have *some* effect on the SPF. How much effect is hard to know? |

Now I don't understand - I use Juice Beauty SPF30 Moisturiser (2 in 1) after serum on clean skin, then make up. Hope that is okay?? |

I find this all confusing too!
I had read to put sunscreen/sunblock directly on skin then all the other stuff after waiting 20 min. That's what I did until I heard a derm say you don't have to wait if it's sunblock.
But I got a sample of Clarin's mineral suncreen and the directions say: moisturizer, sunscreen, makeup. It doesn't say to wait...
So that the way I do it now. If I have time, I will wait between each step. |

I think you only have to wait if you are applying a chemical sunscreen so it can sink into the skin. With minerals, they remain on top of the skin so I really don't think there would be a difference in putting makeup on right away or waiting. I always put my makeup on over my sunscreen right away. |
