Hi Very Happy

I was reading a Swedish newspaper yesterday and one on the headlines "Bye, bye wrinkles-forever" was about a new technology that customizes skin care products based on each person’s skin DNA profile.

For me it sounds too good to be true, there is also a lack of information at Clients of Dermagenetics home page. I have several issues that would like to question:

1- As we all know the skin does not absorb large molecule substances, what's the content of their creams (large or small molecules)? How is it absorbed by the skin? dermagenetics doesn't mention anything about this.

2- The test is based on each person’s skin DNA profile, for me it doesn't make any sense because if skin aging and skin problems could be targeted with an easy DNA test then we could've been free from such problems.

3- Their results are based on an 8 weeks study with 31 women...Can this study be trusted? What are the long-term benefits?

Here is their homepage http://www.dermagenetics.com/

The price according to the Swedish newspaper is 2000 sek for the DNA test (about 270 USD), and 1500 for the cream (200USD).

So ladies did you hear about dermagenetics products and DNA test? Has anyone tried it? What do you think about the information they provide on their website?

Please let me know your point of view.

And sorry about my English Smile

Looks like snake oil to me. As they point out 99.9% of dna between each person is identical so why bother making genetically tailored skin care.

I think the sentence on the home page - "destined to become your spa's most extraordinary new PROFIT centre"(my caps)- Says it all. Cheap ingredints dressed up as something special and then flogged to desparate/gullible/more money than sense folks.
