Seriously I never thought I would say this but the UK is TOO HOT! We have been having a heatwave for the past month and it is unbearably humid!! Most places here (including my work and home) have no air conditioning as we are not used to this and it makes everything horrible.
Can't sleep, can't work, can't cook, my usually combo/normal skin is a grease ball. Look bad, feel bad
When will it end???
Is this global warming or what??
Rant over...feel better now |

Here on the continent we have the same. In the office i have aircon but i don't put it on because two weeks ago i had a bad sinusitis and i still cough badly.
It's bad at home because i cannot sleep in the triopical heat and i'm "chronically" tired.
On the other hand i try not to fuss about this summer because in two months we have the awful autumn here again and i hate winter... |

That is so true!
I feel kinda guilty complaining about it but I just can't help myself! Winter in the UK is the worst too! Wet and dull for months on end. But at least you can sleep!! |

Bo, do you live/work in London ? I think heat is especially awful in big cities. I'm in Vienna where the heat keeps and there is no breeze either. my friends on the countryside have it a tiny bit easier... |

I'm in the UK and it's nasty! I'm not one to complain about hot weather but this isn't the nice kind, more the hot sticky exhausting humid kind lol.
I really don't cope well with the heat so my face just drips with sweat. Not a good look when your make-up slides off.....
I never thought I'd say this but PLEASE COME BACK RAIN! I LOVE YOU REALLY!!!!! |

I think it might be global warming and I am terrified- we too in Australia have just had hottest summer in years over 2005/06. Additionally there have been so many many natural disasters lately...I just don't know what to do but it is something I think about on a daily basis.
I feel for all of you over there, and hope the weather gets better soon.

Blimey! Your Majesty, what an honour to have you on our forum!
You'd think you could afford a bit of air conditioning in old Buck Palace, though, surely!
As for the heat - eurrrrggghhhh! I hate it. I'm not built for hot weather. Bring on the autumn. Now. Please. |

Don't be rude. I never go near lycra or anything remotely resembling sportswear. I'm old fashioned and like old fashioned clothes. |

I'm on the West Coast and have noticed that we have gotten some pretty hot summers the past 10 years. My favorite birthday present this year from my husband (Rufus is my second name, I'm a woman) is the portable air conditioner. He doesn't feel the heat but I swell up and get miserable...maybe he bought the thing more for his own peace of mind |

You're too funny, majorb
Now, I know Liz has been trying to economize in recent years (to keep those semi-loyal subjects in line!), but yes, I agree... at least for the corgis' sake, get some aircon.
Then again, you'd think the dungeon would be cool..oops, wrong place..a move across town to bunk down with the Beefeaters would be an idea. |

Careful, tiger-tim, or HRH will be shouting "Orf with her head" and you'll be the one staying chez les Beefeaters. |

Nah, you'd end up wandering through your palace exchanging high wattage light bulbs for lower ones. Your staff would be starting a class action suit against you because they end up tripping or putting out their eyes washing dishes,in the low light. So much for absolute monarchys. |
