So I have been using Green Cream level 3 for the last two weeks...I know that I really need to keep with it before it starts clearing (and that break outs occur at first in some people, just like when I was on Retin A "it gets worse before it gets better") but I just couldn't take it anymore! My skin looked like it did back in high school. Luckily my Everday Minerals covered it for much of the day. But I still felt upset about my skin.
So last night I went back to my MB glycolic gel, with MB drying cream as a spot treatment and woke up this morning with much clearer skin.
Luckily I only bought the samples of GC...I still have the level 6, and I might go back to it later, but right now I buckled, I didn't "stay the course" like I was determined to do.
That said...we've also had really humid weather recently. Would that make me break out (I live in the desert, with little to no humidity, and recently its been much more humid)?
I don't know...I'm just bummed. I guess it could be something else?
Here's my routine (can you tell I just got an EDS order?):
AM:
Wash face with DHCC or Fresh Cleansing Balm with Lemon oil (DHCC every other day)
Toner (will use PSF toner starting today)
Delceor Ylang ylang oil
Decleor Mattifying fluid
Sunscreen (will start PSF Herbel sunscreen in SPF 30 today)
PM:
Wash face with Yonka Nettoyant gel
Toner (PSF toner..starting last night)
Decleor ylang ylang (was doing the oil, but last night started with the night balm, and I will rotate it with the essential balm in two weeks)
Rosehip oil, but only around eyes
**this is where I did the GC level 3 but last night I did the MB Glycolic gel and drying cream
Ideas? In a way I'm disappointed that GC didn't work. Though I did get alot of my positive reviews from their forum. But, then again, I won't have to spend 40 bucks on it now...
TIA for your thoughts. |

Poor you!
I've just started again with gc6 cause I really want it to work, but it broke me out as well (and I've never been pimply!) and then my skin went all horrid and flakey.
I had just gone to super CP serum and mandelic so maybe that had something to do with it |

I did not have good results with Green Cream. I had used level 6 cautiously and then worked up to almost daily; nothing. I just did not see results.
However, I used level 9....OMG I was only using twice weekly and had redness, irritation, etc. Products that never bothered me suddenly bothered me. For example I use Vitamin C serum. I applied my mildest (Avalon C serum) and it stung.
So I gave up ALL treatments and masks (C, AHA, BHA, retin types) and all exfoliating products. I just cleansed and used plain moisturizer and sunscreen of course during the day. It took a few weeks for my skin to return to normal.
I then went back to Avene. I had used the line when it first came to Canada. I am not sure why I strayed...I guess I read too many forums and want to try too much stuff.
I have great results with Avene. I can buy it at SDM (& get points... I am obsessed with optimum points.) IMO the Diacneal/Ystheal is more effective.
What really irks me is the greencream community forum really PUSHES people who should give it up or least back off the GC...with phrases like "power through to the next level, ...." (or something hokey.)Not everyone can or should use GC. |

Sorry you guys have not had a good experience with GC. It's so weird how some products work for some and not for others - everyone really has different skin with different histories!
I actually really like GC, but am not using currently because it makes my skin too sensitive in the summer to the sun. But I am definitely going back to it starting in September (level 6) because I truly see a difference, especially around my eyes.
Good Luck! |
