Anyone ever mixed baking soda with the aspirin mask? I use baking soda quite a bit to exfoliate and just now thought to mix it with some aspirin.. it fizzled and crackled and stuff! I got better results than just the aspirin or baking soda alone, wondering if anyone else has tried this? And why does it fizzle? |

I have! I decided that I did not like the results as much as just doing Asprin, Witch Hazel and a little drop of Tea Tree Oil. I decided to incorporate the baking soda in the shower with my regular cleanser. Seems to help my clogged pores quite a bit without drying out my skin to much. |

I actually exfoliated the other day with baking soda in the shower, I actually like it. Think it left my skin softer and smoother, without drying it out also. |

you know that school science fair project with the vinegar and the baking soda volcano?
same kind of thing.
with baking, if you're using baking soda (not powder) you'll notice that it calls for butter milk, or lemon juice or something acidic for the baking soda to react with and that makes bubbles which makes the baking rise.
so, there's the ASA acetylsalicylic acid ('scuse the spelling) and the alkaline baking soda, alkaline + acid = reaction.
the science makes sense, but i NEVER thought of doign it myself.
i know what i'm doing tomorrow! |
