Pinkle-my honest answer is that it is a temporary result at best, and i did follow all protocol. If you look at the original date that Katee started this thread, you can tell how long I have been faithfully using it, as I was an original user as well. When asked in the NYT article, I did answer truthfully and my opinion has not changed. I wished I could answer differently but I won't elaborate to promote although some have had better results.
To me it is just another gadget but because of the amount I spent on it, feel like I have to keep using it, at least every other week.

AnnieR: Good to know. I'll keep that in mind. If, perhaps, you spent only $100 instead of $300+, would you still be using it once ever other week for maintenance?

Good question! Yes, but I would have expected less from it. My expectations were way higher for the Baby Q.
As I have always said, it does temporarily plump and make the skin looked refreshed, which is the reason I still use it. A pick me up when I need it. I don't have acne, but even when I breakout and I use it on a spot, it doesn't heal it any faster than time itself. It does not diminish wrinkles, red spots, fine lines or pores. As I have been told by numerous derms/docs, it is not invasive enough to rewind, just refresh.
So that's my honest answer.

This is an old thread but I wanted to post my results on the Baby Q for those who are considering it. I purchased it a little over 6 weeks ago and have used it pretty religiously every other night (on the off night I'll sometimes use the lowest setting on my NL area only). Basically my results have been a big zero. I have a 60 return policy from the place I bought it from so I need to return now maybe if I used it for 6 months or so I'd have a different result. Although I doubt I'd keep using it though based on the complete lack of results so far. Glad it's of use to others but I'd suggest definitely buying from someplace with a good return policy.

My Baby Q has completely gone out, won't turn on. I have always had a problem with the lights skipping cycles or turning off but this time it's kaput.
I don't remember what the warranty is as I have had to return it twice before, but it took a while to get it back so i will probably just let it go.
Experiment over.

I'm still waiting on whether my Baby Quasar (red) is faulty or not. At first, Advanced Thera advised EDS that it is a fault for the BQ to light up before the switch is even turned on but got a second reply from EDS saying that Advanced Thera advised that it is normal for Baby Quasar to light up by itself before the switch is turned on.

Is this the case? My previous BQ never did this and my Baby Blue doesn't switch on by itself either.

Any similar experiences?

I emailed EDS that my first Baby Quasar Red never switched on (lighted up) by itself before I turned on the switch so waiting on their reply.

Hi LizaA,
my Baby Quasar (red) flashes on then off when first plugged it.
I've had it for about a year & to be honest retired it to the back of the draw about 6 months ago - it never made any difference to my skin Sad

However, I've just ordered a derma roller so I'm going to dig it out & give it another go, as I've read some good reports when using them both as a combined treatment.

My babyQ is back up and working after they sent me a new power pack so it sounds like sometimes the power pack can be to blame for some of the quirks and differences in how it behaves.

Hello,
I am new to this forum and I am considering buying a baby Q.
What I am looking for it to do is even out uneven skin tone and just all over improve things that I feel need improvment in the anti ageing department.
I see it's quite pricy and I would be pretty dissappointed if the Q didn't deliver the results it claims to deliver after spending that kind of money.
I guess I just wanted some input on whether it is wort buying of not. I read some of the reviews here and they seem to be mixed.
Maybe I'll just buy it and try it. If I do not like it, I'll return it.

wondering if any of you BQ owners could check your user manual to see how many amps the BQ is, as i need to buy a converter to be able to use it in Australia.

I started using botox between my brow and a bit of filler around nasolabial folds a year ago Baby q has thus taken a long rest in the back of my drawer.

But thinking of taking it out as my hair has been thinning in massive amounts these last years (PCOS)
Has anyone used baby q for hair growth/stimulation?

After reading all the rave reviews on this forum and others I got the Baby Q. I've been using it every night for about 2 wks and have Not noticed any improvement. javascript:emoticon(' Neutral

') Luckily I have a 30 day return on it. Maybe it's because I have 60 y/o old skin (but it's very good skin) or maybe my expectations are just too high. Anyway, I want to let you know that you can rent this product from the MMH website so you can try b4 you buy. I'm glad I got mine from them. I'm not giving up yet I still have two more weeks to go.

I had heard about light therapy and came to know it helps you in anti-aging treatments, getting rid of wrinkles, and in some cases with depression problem. I have seen many patients being recovered after taking this treatment.

My Quasar, first the Baby and now the MD, is by far the best skin treatment I've even done to my face. The results have been superb! My skin is tight and plumped up. I've had two friends go out and buy one after seeing my results. They tell you not to expect any permanent results until after 4-6 months of continuous use. Patience is a must!

I was actually coming on here to get some tips on how to target specific areas. Some areas I want to be even firmer (like jawline) and some I want to be fuller (cheeks). I've used mine for 1.5 years. Any other long term users here with special tips?

Would appreciate it!

I was also disappointed with my Baby Q and returned it Like the other poster stated it's best to get it from MMH or somewhere with a good return policy. It's too pricey to get stuck with something that will just get tossed into your box of misc beauty supplies.

It doesn't work like that. It took us decades to cause skin problems and unless you go and get a facelift - there is no quick-fix. It takes at a minimum of 4-6 months to even begin to grow new collagen, that's just a fact. Working with LED lights is a long-term effort. As are many skin treatments: the Dermaroller, Retin A, copper, anti-oxidants, laser firming. Almost all skin treatments that are truly effective takes months to begin to see results - not weeks.

In my mid 50's after 1.5 years of using LED lights my skin is much more firm, plump and smooth. I'm amazed by it. So glad I had the patience to stick it out - I've also added in the Dermaroller to treat some old acne scars and don't expect to see any additional improvements for at least 6 months to a year.

I would be willing to give it a try (and an honest review) if it delivers what it promises.
It is supposed to be 25% stronger than my Baby Q.
But knowing that, what exactly does that mean or do? Stronger isn't always better unless it achieves a goal so I would be curious to see if someone can tell me what that might accomplish.
To me it will have to meet the following criteria to give it a thumbs up: affordability, customer service, reliability but most importantly proven results. I would like to achieve plumper/tighter skin, collagen growth, fewer lines, and smaller pores but I don't know if an LED can accomplish that. That may be too much to reasonably expect from an at-home device but that is my dream gadget!
Too many gadgets out there right now that I am on the fence about buying so I want to choose wisely! I am on a gadget budget, haha. I tend to use the money on office lasers/IPLs which the EXCEL Cutera did accomplish quite a bit and it tamped down my rosacea 90%.
I have used the Baby Q for quite a few years now and prob wore it out, so I am looking forward to checking this out!
Its crazy when I still see my pic from time to time on ebay and beauty blogs with the baby Q since I have never recd. a dime for it, plus I don't endorse it! The LED industry (and at home models of everything) has really taken off since that beginning model so I am always excited to see what's around the corner!

I was in on the original Quasar craze and bought one of the big Pro models that I think is no longer available for sale except the medical field. I used it regularly for a while but can't ever say I saw any remarkable change happen with my facial skin. However, I did see quite a change when I used it on a very old (20+years) radiation burn on my back. The skin there was dark reddish brown, tough to the touch, hard to the touch, kind of like leather, and itched like crazy a lot of the time. Using the Quasar regularly for a few months (my DH did the treatments) along with some kind of moisturizing gel, the skin showed marked improvement to where it became soft, feels like skin, is more flexible, and only a few shades pinker color than the rest of my back. For a very old burn, and that being the only thing I was treating the area with, I was impressed and it wasn't the gel - I'd already put tons of topical stuff on it to relieve itching and nothing previously had changed it.

It also is the only thing that helped speed up the healing of both elbow and knee tendinitis that I've had at various times. It does help with wound healing by increasing circulation. I'd just prop it up so that the Quasar was on the injured spot, set it to the right frequency for healing (blinking I think?) and read or something.

So that's the good news. As far as facial changes - eh, not so much. But clearly it diminishes inflammation by increasing circulation, and whether that's what created a skin change in the burned area or not, I don't know since I'm not a wound specialist.

Chocolat, it's great that your scar has improved so much. It must have been irritating to have that itching.

I bought the new Baby Quasar Plus two weeks ago. I have never owned an led gadget before and it was only coincidence that I made my purchase after the plus version was released.

I used the bqp for five days in the first week, with two three-minute sessions per face section each day. The face is split into six sections, so that adds up to thirty-six minutes per day.

The light starts off cool, with no heat emitted at all. By the third section (7th minute) it has heated up considerably and feels quite warm to the skin.

Since using it, at first i noticed my skin was nuch more uniform and creamy in colour. I can't figure out why, as my melasma itself doesn't seem to have faded (not that i would have expected that so soon).

At the end of the first week i noticed my skin felt a bit tight and dry. It doesnt look dry or feel dry to the touch. I backed off and am using it for a single session (18 minutes) on five days per week. However, this week i have noticed every day that my cheeks and nose feel burning hot in the afternoon and evenings (like blushing or drinking too much wine) and I'm thinking it has to be the bqp. This doesn't seem to make sense, as almost everything I have read about led lights says the opposite in relation to redness.

The other thing is, i suddenly have an incidence of weird little red spots in a patch on only one side of my face. They are like tiny raised patches of blood vessels. I already had just one, shortly before using the bqp but i now have four. I don't think the bqp caused this to happen, but maybe it's exacerbating it. I have never had an skin issue before that involves either breakouts or red patches.

I'm thinking the first red spot/patch was caused by daily exfoliation with Epidermx II. In fact, iknow it was, as it happened after a few weeks of using it. But that's not my point. My point is, i don't understand why my bqp would make it worse. I would have put the increase in these red spots down to coincidence, but that together with the pronounced flushing (this doesnt happen immediately after using the device, but several hours later) leads me to think the bqp does have a detrimental effect on them. In an effort to eliminate it i have decided to lay off it for a while and see if my skin issues improve.

I have got myself in a bit of a muddle now. To help the little red veiny bits, i decided only to cleanse and then use rosehip oil. Now i have not just red weird things on the side of my face level with my mouth corners, but also proper spots/pimples along my jawline. I think this may be due to using the oil twice a day.

Until using the Epidermx II i could do absolutely anything to my skin and it didn't mind. i think i must have sensitized it (this happened last summer). I'm very frustrated by it. One tiny red patch didn't bother me much but, suddenly a whole crop of them!

So...the bqp. If it turns out that it hasnt caused the flushing and the increase in red bits i will be very happy as, for the rest of my face, it does even my skin out somehow, whilst bringing it to life. For a while now, i have noticed that my skin looked devoid of life. There was no glow, and it was just...dull. The baby quasar plus has definitely changed that (and I'm not talking about the flushing). My skin now looks alive and healthier. Yesterday, my dh suddenly asked me "do you think you look younger?" It was a bit of a leading question. I thought he was going to add, "because you don't!" To my surprise, he said he thought my bqp must be working as i do look younger somehow. He couldn't say why, though. His comment came completely out of the blue and took me by surprise.

I am forty-seven. My skin seems to look good compared to some at my age but close up it is a riot of uneven pigment and very fine wrinkles. If it can get some life back i will be very happy, but only if the red patches are unrelated.

I will post back when i have given it more time.
