TRIHARDLISA, I have combo/oily skin which can sometimes become dry on the cheeks and have visible pores on the nose. i dont have to many breakouts though do get some at that time of the month. I used Dr. H for about 4 months and while it initially improved my skin it became much worse after about 1-2months and i eventually had to give up. |

Lisa, if you live near wholefoods you can check out Dr. H's products there and maybe you can try to bring some baggies to get some samples from the try me's. I haven't tried Dr. H because I'm afraid of congested pores and breakouts like how some of the EDS members got after using this line.. |

I have never tried any Dr H products yet. Can someone tell me what is difference between the cleasning milk and cleansing cream? Which is better for normal, sensive, and no-makeup skin? TIA! |

This product worked decently for me, but I think I still like the Decleor Cleansing Milk better. |

If your skin is very sensitive then I think the cleansing milk would be better, as the cleansing cream may irritate your skin slightly. This happens to me from time to time, even though the cleansing cream is still my HG cleanser. But if you are after a "deep" clean then I definitely recommend the cleansing cream instead. |

Has anyone used both Dr. Hauschka's Cleansing Milk and Jurlique's Cleansing Lotion? How are the two compared? I can't decide which one to get. |

It seems Dr.H products got mixed reviews, some say great while others complains it pore clogging.
I tried DHCC samples, but the quantities is too little for me to tell whether it clog my pores or not... |

iaimei - cleansing cream and cleansing milk are very different. Cleansing milk is very light, can be used as a makeup remover, and very smooth. The cleansing cream is very grainy and has an exfoliation/declogging effect. It is very good if you have acne or redness, while the milk is good for very sensitive and dry skin. You can look at their site to see more of an explanation. |

I have combination skin and this product makes me break out. I use it to wash the make-up off my eyes. |

Like jjirak I also just use it for eye makeup remover now. It has such a wonderful feeling and smell so for those who don't get clogged skin with it I think it's great to use. I just couldn't.
But this product make the PERFECT eye makeup remover. The degree to which it is effective but gentle is amazing. So I save it for that and at least I get to smell it once per day. |

I have combo/acne prone skin. I really like this product. I use dermalogica microfoliant in the am so maybe that helps eliminate the feeling of clogging some of you commment on? I find the milk very soothing and gentle to use before i go to bed. I always rinse it off with plenty of water too. |

Definitely a fan of this product. works great as a make-up remover and a cleanser in the morning. It works much better than Jurlique cleansing lotion. |

I think if you wear a lot of makeup the cleansing milk is not enough to clean you up. Personally, though I found that since I stuck to the cleansing milk regimen with no cream at night and only in the morning, I don't even need much makeup. I find that my skin is so healthy it looks great with less makeup. |

When I first tried this product, I wasn't particularly fond of it, but I've grown to really like it. A wonderful and mild makeup remover. |

I've tried it out several times and it only made me breakout. The rose day cream works really well when my skin is dry but the dhcc jut doesn't react well with my skin for some reason! |

I've switched to Dr.Hauschka skincare about 4 months ago. I use and like most of the products recommended for oily skin. I had some breakouts for the 1st month, then it gradually subsided. Then I added the Cleansing Milk to the routine, but it broke me up again.
I'm thinking maybe I use it incorrectly. I actually dispensed some on a cotton pad to wipe the face, then follow with the Cleansing Cream. I read from the leaflet and it says 'Do not Scrub'.
So, I tried to use it on wet skin with the press and roll method that I do with the Cleansing Cream. But skin felt oily after I rinse it off.
I think I shall stick to my Decleor Cleansing Milk. |

For everyone who has used this with negative results..
Was it due to blackheads and clogged pores or irritation of some sort? |

Just use it in the morning....
in the evening, it's not good enough to clean the skin with sunblock |

I'm using its cleansing cream, because I always trust cream more than milk...
The protecting layer after use makes me feel good. But because of its exfoliating function, I dare not use it more than three times a week. |

I have tried both Dr.H's cleansing milk and cleansing cream, and I found the cleansing cream is more suitable for me. |

I'm going to buy Clarisonic brush, so I think the milk should be my choice, milder. |

I don’t know if this will be helpful, but here goes anyway…..
I was looking into purchasing some Dr H products – I liked the idea of their philosophies of using all natural ingreidents –but I was completely stuck as to which products I would need for my skin and in what order I would need to apply them.
I was checking out the Australia Dr H website and came across the ‘Discovery center’ section. I booked my self and a girlfriend in for a $30 / 1 hour session of D-I-Y facial cleansing and skin rebalancing.
Skin Condition Assessment; Warm Lavender Hydration Compressing;Cleansing
Facial Steam Bath; Clay Mask; Rhythmic Ampoule Application; Lemon or Lavender Compressing
Understanding Moisturisers; Decorative Cosmetics (if desired)
Basically, the consultant at the center talked us through a regime suitable for our skin types and most importantly taught us HOW to apply the Dr H products.
There was a lot more to just the cleansing and toning.
For example: Dr H promotes a policy of “No rubbing or scrubbing” – a pressing technique is employed when applying the products.
Dr H doesn’t recommend the use of cotton pads for applying cleansing cream or toner – the reason being that the cotton absorbs the skins natural oils. The only time cotton pads are used is when applying the Cleansing Milk and that’s for make up removal more so than anything (for my skin condition anyway).
There seems to be a lot more to Dr H than any of the product lines I have used in the past and the consultant didn’t push me into buying anything at all – in fact she invited me back to try another cleansing clay mask at no extra cost before I even consider buying any of the full size products. I did however get the travel size normal/dry skin from EDS a week ago, so I have been able to piece together my regime through buying a couple of things from the Discovery centre and my travel kit.
My regime now entails:
Night time:
Cleansing milk to remove make up
Warm Sage Hydration Compressing
Cream cleanser to really clean the skin and unblock pores
Spray and press of the clarifying toner
That would be the end for the majority of the year, but because I’m in my 30’s – 3 times a year I will use the Rhythmic night ampoules for 28 days straight
No moisturisers at night – the theory being that at night the skin creates the natural oils and expels toxins etc – if I continued to apply moisturiser at night - the less my skin would naturally create the oils and cleanse itself. It backs up the theory “the get older, the dryer your skin gets”. Hopefully I will be able to break that habit now.
The day regime is the same except that after toning I will use the Quince Day Cream with a squirt of the normalising day oil mixed in.
We also had a facial steam bath and mixed up our own clay mask – the mask I used the rejuvenating cream, quince day cream, the normalising day oil, some of the clarifying toner and a few other bits and pieces. It was great to be able to make your own – depending on how your skin was feeling at the time. Some days you might need more oil other days more cream – it’s up to you.
The consultant also warned us that some dryness and a few breakouts are normal while the skin transitions to the Dr H products. She said 28 days of minor issues was not uncommon. So far my irritations have been extremely minor. Slight dryness on the cheeks. My skin is less red and I feel no tightness.
Anyway, I’m merely a novice at Dr H, but if you are thinking about trying some of the products it may be worth finding a discovery center near you or going online to have a look at their philosophies and techniques. It was so, so, so worth it for me. I think I am now a convert - I'm not going to jump in and buy everything, but I feel better knowing that everything is so natural.
I hope this will be helpful to some people |
