Hi
I love, love love the La Prairie Silver Rain EDP but it retails for 85 pounds in the UK, which is about $150 US and I just can't justify spending that kind of money. I'm going to the US soon, (yippeeeee) and really wanted to buy it duty free here in the UK at the airport as it's much cheaper but now because of this ridiculous no liquids restrictions, I can't buy perfume. The duty free shops will be losing so much money.
My question is... do I just bite the bullet and spend the 85 pounds OR does anyone know how much it is in the States as I'll buy it there when I visit instead?
Phew... long winded way of asking does anyone know how much it costs, but I got there in the end!
Thanks
Sarah |

Try Strawberrynet.Com I use it all the time to buy perfumes and they are shipped postage free from HONG KONG and I save quite a lot. I live in Ireland. |

Try this site: http://www.thedutyfreepriceguide.com/ It gives comparisons on prices of various duty free and airlines around the world. It may not have the actual product you're looking for but just select any other perfume and have a look at the difference in prices.
I look at this before I travel so I know what I need to buy at which airport |

Re the whole no liquids and duty free.. my understanding is that there is the first security check before immigation (usually) and you cannot take any liquids through that. However, if you purchase at a duty free shop AFTER you go through immigration (all airports have ones port side) then it is OK, BUT there will be a security check of your duty free purchases at the boarding gate. Has this changed? |

Have you thought of trying to swap for it from MUA? I saw quite a few (probably at least 5) on there so you can check it out as to the condition, etc. |

Hi
No unfortunately if you're travelling to the US (from the UK), if you buy any liquid duty frees after going through immigration, they will be taken off you at the second search at the gate. I was going to take my little pot of creme de la mer moisturiser to slather on my face during the flight, but now that would be confiscated?! |

Thanks Mabsy have booked that dutyfree site that's handy to know if they relax the restrictions. Unfortunately I still can't find the one I want on there. I think I'm going to have to buy it full price, much as I don't want to. |
