I have checked both of their webpages and found that both of them have the similar skincare lines, and it seems the creator of both of these brands is the same person, Dr.Pickart, and the indigients of the products are the same as well. The difference is Skin Biology has a line for hair care, and Platinum has a peeling line. Do anyone of you know why they are so similar? If it is from the same person, why do they seperate the products into two brands?
I want to order the CP serum and don't know which one to choose. |

I don't know the difference between the two, but you might also want to check out makeup artists choice. They have cp serum in a 1/2 oz trial size. It's only $10. |

Hi Liangzhiz
I'm so glad I found you
You're the perfect person to read my copper peptides entry for EDS's draft FAQ.
It's at the bottom of the page here.
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=15323&start=0
(NB Skinbio's are 'second generation' copper peptides and MUA and Platinum Skincare's are 'first generation' so they are a little different)
Anyway, give the faq a go and then come back

Hey, Molly, I read your draft. I think you meant Neova (not Renova)? when you are talking about 1st generation! (not being picky but that might confuse people as there is no CP in Renova) |

Thanks Rileygirl
oops! I do know the difference. It's a typo. Unfortunately I've no way of fixing it for now.
Let me know if you see anything else, it's useful. |

Platinum Skincares CP is second generation. I emailed them when I first bought some and asked them. |

Anna, yes you're right. Thanks for pointing it out. They're just Skinbio's repackaged. I hadn't noticed that before. |

So SkinBio (as on DianaYvonne) is the same as the cps that Platinum Skincare sell - ie both 2nd generation?
Sorry if I'm being thick - getting a bit kerfuddled!! |

Yes, Lucia - they're both the Skinbio product (2nd generation), but in a nicer bottle from Platinum Skincare .
I remember now, they're both affiliates or associates of Skinbio, recommended from their site for higher strength peels. |

Dear Molley, thanks a lot for giving this extreme useful link to me where I can find many information about ingredients. All of the posts are very interesting for me, so, of course, I read everything. I am sorry I read a bit slowly because English is not my mothertongue and looking up in dictionary for some special terms costs me some time to read. So I have not came to the topic about CP serum yet today. I will come back to this topic after reading yours tomorrow. Thanks again. |

Dear Molley, I read your draft about CP serum from the link you gave to me. I love your explanation. However, I am still a bit confused. Should I use both CP serum and CP cream together so the effective will be better? My skin is a bit thin and I can see the small blood veils in my face, so do you think I can use them? Are they more active than Vit. C serum so I should use every other day when I am new to them? Thank Molley again. |

Hi Langzhiz
No, don't use two products at the same time, you'll be using twice as much CP and that's too much for a beginner.
Most users seem to like the CP serum best so I'd try that first. I like to use the CP creams in the winter(Skinbio's P&R2 and P&R3), but I think I'd prefer the serum in the summer when my skin is more moist.
You need to use it like any new 'active' so start using it a few drops at a time slowly. Maybe 2 or 3 times a week and build up to every day or night. It's good for your skin barrier unlike AHAs and Retinoids so it shouldn't make your skin sensitive, but use it slowly just in case you have a bad reaction.
It shouldn't affect your broken veins.
I don't know whether it's stronger or weaker than Vit C. I'm not sure if you're asking me about the results or sensitivity? Vitamin C is in an acid base which can make peoples' skin feel sensitive, but this is in a neutral base so 'weaker' in that sense.
OK, hope that helps
Feel free to again if you've got any more Qs.

Dear Molley, thanks for your quite and clear reply. I read your discussion with others about CP from skin biology and Platinum that they are actually the same, aren't they? If they are, I want to order from Platinum first because they offer sample size. Thanks again for your help sincerely. |
