I am curious whether anyone has had success with the less is more sorts of routines? On their own? I am thinking about the philosophy Eve Lom, Amanda Lacey, Dr H I think ( I still don't know enough about the Dr H range but it's much bigger than the others I mentioned).
I.e. simple routine that's low on products and is supposed to let your skin regulate itself, no glycolics, Vitamin Cs etc
Thanks

I definitely agree with the less is more concept. I am also a huge fan of the Dr Hauschka line. My skin has never looked better since I started using the skin care and cosmetics. |

I am starting to think so too.
I have tried a lot of routines since joining EDS. The most recent was the entire IS rountine I did for several months. My skin did get a lot better but then I decided to let my skin rest for a few months (this has been suggested on other posts and it makes sense...so I tried it). During the last three months I have only been cleansing (B. Kamins Vitamen Cleanser) and using vit c before walking out the door. Strange because before my face was SO dry that I had to slather it with lotion mixed with jojoba oil (or grapeseed)...but not in the last few months. I did continue to use the aspirin mask but was not as dilligent as I used to be (went from once a week to every other week).
Now I am starting to do more, such as use a light lotion, and at least a mask once a week...but I am watching carefullly. If my face starts to show signs of regressing then I am going straight back to cleansing and vit c.
So here is my question: why did my face stop being so dehydrated when I started using vit c? |

It's so easy into getting caught up in too many products. I'm constantly parring down. The only problem is then I keep buying new products. Oh, to find balance. |

This is exactly what I find too. |

I think that kind of approach is a very positive thing when you're young. I wouldn't use all these actives in my twenties anyhow, but I went through a several month long phase of basic skincare recently mostly down to my finances and frankly my skin looked horrible. It's coming back now after another few months of using good actives. |

I used to believe so, but since I came here, I have been hooked on all those fancy stuff... |

I know that when I stopped using all kinds of acne products my skin cleared up. Go figure. I think it all depends on your skin and what it can handle. Someone with thick, sundamaged skin would certainly benefit from increased exfoliation while someone with thin, fragile skin might be harmed by that same routine.
To each his own. |

i have been trying to simplify my skincare routine. Not only its good for the skin but its also good for my pocket. I am currently using just two product on my face, a treatment and moisturizer. So far so good. |

after joining and learning stuff on eds i definatly believe less is more. i have simplified my routine and also started using natural and organic products, my skin has never looked better! i still have problem with applying the less is more philosophy when putitng on moisturizers and oil tho :/ its like my brain automatically thinks more moisture will be better when it sometimes is worse |
