Does wheat protein have the same potential to cause breakage or dryness? It seems to be in alot of products that get used daily(shampoo-con-styling products etc)I've read protein can build up on hair if used too much and cause dryness and breakage.I was wondering if its weaker than some of your heavy duty treatments like joico kpak etc so okay for daily use.
Anyone know much about proteins?
Thanks
Also EDS is there any chance we can have a new forum dedicated to hair care. ive noticed more threads are coming up on haircare lately. Just a thought |

Carolb69,
I try to stay away from products that have silicones and or proteins in them. They do tend to make my hair drier and weigh it down. Not sure on wheat protein in general though.
Once a month or so I do a protein pack on my hair and leave it in for a while with a heat cap or so since my hair is color treated, I do think every once in a while it may need it, but on a daily basis probably not a good thing. |

Your hair needs a certain amount of protein. It needs to be balanced with moisturizing products. Too much will make it brittle and cause it to break and feel crunchy. My hairdresser tells me to use protein but not all protein. |
