Hello,

I have 29 year old skin combo/oily fairly thick and takes treatments well. Occasional hormonal acne, which leaves a scar but no pits. My skin needs an extra boost and glow for a big event in 5/6 months and I'm hoping to improve my skincare regimen by using this event as motivating.

Should I be considering home microdermabrasion?

Thanks

I think a peel would serve you better. You also might want to consider Vit C Serum.

I have already started to use retin A in the PM(alternate days) and will be starting to use a Vitamin C serum in the AM next week. I hope this will give me some good results!

For some extra boost wondered if the peels would be too much or not. I certainly don't want to damage my skin Shock

Do you have any suggestions for which peel to use lactic or glycolic? and what strength?

Thanks
Janis

I'm 25 and I've been through microderm. I had acne scars, though, and that was my prime reason for doing it. I'll admit that the anti-aging benefits were added incentive, though (I have signs of premature aging already).

It helped with the scars -- not dramatically, but some... the texture improved. As far as fine lines and other weird skin stuff that comes with getting older, I didn't see much of a change there.

It's an expensive procedure... I guess you just have to ask yourself a) what probems you want it to solve, and b) whether it's worth the price for you.

If you're just doing it because you have mildly irritating skin problems, I would definitely say choose at-home products instead.

I am definitely only considering home products at present due to cost factors since my skin has only minor problems so to say.

Curious Cookie,

for a boost, I would suggest the slow release glycolic product Radiance skin souffle by Ice Elements.. and for the instant glow, their 2 minute miracle exfoliation gel.

Your scarring may be taken care of by an at home microdermabrasion kit, just take care in following the directions so as not to overdo it.

If you do go with the microdermabrasion, the 2 minute miracle exfoliation gel would assist you by gently eliminating the dead surface skin that would peal off from the microdermabrasion.

Take care.
