I was just told that today and am now very afraid I will wrinkle earlier as the SA told me that if I wasn't careful I would (I am only 24!). I want to start taking preventative measures and thicken the skin under the eye...is that even possible? would green cream work? how about emu oil and glycolic Acid? Please let me know and also what brands you have had success with and how they have helped you.
Thanks! |

Hi
I really *wouldn't* recommend glycolic in this area. The molecules are large and it penetrates too deeply just causing damage and no collagen production. You can't promote collagen production in your eye area with AHAs.
I would recommend emu, emu and more emu and some HA - both very healing, soothing, moisturising.
For retinoids you might be better off using a gentler one than Retin A. Have a look at the Ystheal/Diacneal thread below. Great results without irritation.
HTH, Molly
An afterthought - I would recommend a little gentle surface exfoliation if you have wrinkles to soften them, but you don't and you'll only thin the skin. |

| Hi Molly thanks for replying - is there a certain emu oil that you recommend for around the eye area? I was looking at it and I really don't think the skin is that thin - I compared it to my brothers undereyes as well and they seem fine - but the SA did scare me and I definitely want to try and thicken the epidermis a little to prevent future damage. Any advice is welcome. |

You may want to consider 100% vegetable derived squalane as it closely resembles the human sebum and works extremely well in keeping the under eye area hydrated.
Ice Elements sells one that I have heard raves on, but you may also be able to pick some up in your local health food store. |

Bosoxy - there was someone on one thread I read earlier today who would benefit from this product. She is a vegan and doesn't like using emu oio although, she likes the effect.
I'll try to remember the thread. |
