Yep - it can. I'm sure there are some 'home remedy' types, but the easiest way is to have a simple base cream and add a powder called Dihydroxyacetone at 3 to 8%. |

Is that the powder that's used in all sunless tanners, or is it different? The reason I ask is because when I do try to use a sunless tanner, the skin on my legs doesn't seem to like it since I get itchy bumps after a day or two. Because of this, I'm also wondering if the Mystic Tan stuff is the same as most other sunless tanners or if they use something different (It'd be interesting to try using the mystic tan thing once ). |

From sunless.com I found out about Airbrush Solutions (ABS on their forums). I've tried a couple but settled on React untinted - purchased online.
I dilute the liquid with water or Infusium in 1:3 ratio, and apply three days in a row. I use a small spray bottle and a velour puff. It's super easy, takes 5 minutes to do my arms, legs, torso and face at night. This has virtually no smell, dries ultra fast and gives me a nice brown color. Even my girlfriend thought I was going to the tanning beds.
There is tons of info on sunless.com - some users mix it with lotion to make their own "natural Glow" type product. I learned a lot from the veterans there, and everyone is very friendly in answering newbie questions.
HTH a bit. By the way I have tried Clarins, L'Oreal, No-ad, Marcelle, Life and numerous others but never liked the smell or the orange color I got. React has way more DHA (? the active ingredient) at 10% plus there's a higher one if you really want color. |
Here is the Sunless.com forum that has some DIY ideas:

Note: I tried the React untinted solution (ordered it online) DIY "recipe" and it didn't work very well for me. I even tried mixing it different ways--with water, with Infusuim 23, and with different types of lotions. Nothing really worked for me, but that's just my skin. (I have very dry skin and the solution didn't sink in very well.)
HAVE FUN EXPERIMENTING AND PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU FIND A GREAT DIY RECIPE! |
